Alright so I think this was supposed to be a song. It's based on two characters, Elizabeth and Edward, from my book Joy in the Fire. [Which is on Wattpad but needs major editing]
I used to hate him and
Dislike the sound of his name;
Scowled at his presence,
But he did not do the same.
He smiled and cared for me
And gave me sage advice.
But before I heeded it
I would have died twice.
I did not listen to him prior
Because I'd called for the liar.
Then when the truth
Was let loose;
Further languished
My anguish,
He
Was
There.
And he said, "Don't despair."
He showed me the good in the bad;
Gave me joy when I was sad.
He turned my anger into love
All the while pointing above.
The doctor; the healer; the helper-
Never once from me depart.
Teaching me the ways of love,
Healing my broken heart,
And all the while...
Pointing above.
