I'm tired of this—
Watching from the sidelines.
I try to gout out
To help you fight,
But your demons are so strong.
I can defeat them
Easily enough;
They shy away from me—
But somehow
They still get to you,
And the wounds they give you
Appear on my skin.
I watch you hurt
And I want only
To kill those demons
And hold you
Forever safe—
If only
You'd let me.
