I try to forget

About love.

I try to ignore it.

But it's hard to forget about something

I'm constantly being reminded of.

It's hard to ignore something

Everyone is constantly shouting in my ear.

All the movies I watch,

All the books I read,

They're filled with perfect romances.

I don't understand

How not one tells the truth.

They all tell the same lie:

Girl meets boy,

They fall in love—

At the same time.

What a joke.

And if the one

Doesn't like the other

Then they're a complete jerk.

I can't forget.

I can't ignore.

I try my best.

I try to wait.

I try to forget for now.

I try to move on.

I try.

But I can't.
