This is a poem I wrote for my darling Aunt Jeanine who took her life twenty-seven years ago on this day.
Dear Jeanine,
I never knew you.
Dear Jeanine,
I never met you.
Dear Jeanine,
I wish I'd known you.
Dear Jeanine,
I wish I'd met you.
Dear Jeanine,
I could have known you.
Dear Jeanine,
I could have met you,
Dear Jeanine,
If you hadn't taken,
Dear Jeanine,
Taken your dear life.
Dear Jeanine,
I never knew you.
Dear Jeanine,
I never met you.
But dear Jeanine,
I still love you.
