Bliss's Pov
"Any news?" I asked the two of them knowing what the answer would be. "Nope" Just as I suspected. "Great." I sighed and sat in the shade, not wanting to be in the sun's hot rays of DEATH.
"Okay then." I thought out loud. "What leads do we have?" After a few moments Vixen finally replied. "Well, all of them were either sick or wounded when they disappeared. And.... That's it." I closed my eyes to help myself think better. It helped for some reason.
"It could be about fifty different kinds of creatures and that's sugarcoating it. I looked into it myself."
"Plus, there is the possibility that it's just some weird creepy gang of people kidnapping the sick and wounded for kicks." Vixen pointed out. Ember shuttered. "Why?" Vixen gave a half hearted shrug with an 'Eh' sound. "People are evil sometimes. That's just a fact of life."
I shook my head. "No. If people are evil, it's for a reason. Nobody does evil without a reason"
Right?
"Welp, I'm off to bed. See you two later!" The warrior waved us off and left. Ember watched her leave, perplexed. "It's the middle of the day, why is she sleeping?" I heard her murmur quietly. "She was out all this morning and didn't get any sleep last night looking for clues or new leads." I reminded her.
Ember's face instantly changed as she nodded in an understanding motion. "True." Using the magic I had inside me, I played with the ground, making it form into a human shape and twirl around, one part of it's body always fixed to the ground, and dance in a playful manner. I felt my friend watch its movements, entranced by the strange doll like thing I had made.
"Huh." She let out the sound. "I didn't know you could do that." I simply smiled and continued to control it until finally I let go, making the figure dissolve into the ground, losing its grace and life.
After doing our best to find anything and failing, Ember and I both retired to our beds to rest.
Until the loud noises from the townspeople woke us up.
"What is going on out there?" I mumbled as Vixen who was already up looked outside from the stained glass window. "No idea. It's big though. I'm going to check, you..." She trailed off as she looked at me skeptically. "You should sleep. You look like a living nightmare." She chuckled to herself and left.
I must have passed out because the next thing that happened was Me waking up to someone blowing in my ear. I shot up colliding with Vixen causing both of us pain. "Owwww..." She complained as she backed up. "Sheesh woman! Don't do that!" I gave her a puzzled look. "You caused that! You woke me up like that!" I countered. "Shhhhhh.... Don't question." Then decided to go wake Ember up.
"Rise and shine! Time to take on the day and all of its crap that it has in store and that is a lot of flippin crap." Ember moaned for a second then got up. "What happened?" I finally found myself asking. Vixen took a deep breath.
"They found something. A missing person." I sat up straight as quickly as I could. "What? Where? When? Who? How?" I spoke all at once getting a 'Calm yourself' gesture from Vixen. "The found a guy name Robert Lorie. The first guy gone missing. He was just outside of town in a nearby cave. A very short cave too. Just him in there and maybe some bugs? Anyways that's not the important thing."
"They found him encased in amber. Like a bug."
Me and Ember found our way over to the Hospital to see the man in question. Vixen went out to find the cave to check it out for herself. We finally arrived and asked the first doctor we saw about the man. "Oh, Mr Lorie? From our records, he was taken from here, at this hospital, once he got sick." She told us as we walked. Ember didn't seem to be listening and was lost in thought, while I was processing her every word, fascinated.
