Bliss's Pov

"HEY BLISS" A voice yelled in my ear. I jolted out of the bed in a slight daze. "Wha?" The word escaped from my mouth. "Finally! Dang you can be a heavy sleeper." Blinking in confusion, I turned to the familiar voice and recognized the owner. Vixen stared right at me and chuckled.

"Still tired?" She asked me. I nodded slowly, and rubbed my eyes. "I thought we were going to sleep in." Vixen looked at me with slight simpathly. "We WERE but things came up. Something went down a while ago. Something bad." I got out of the bed quickly and, when Vixen left the room, changed.

When I was done, I met up with the rest of the team and we headed out. "How far is it?" I asked as we rushed. "It's not too far from here.... I think." Ember responded as she dodged out of the way as a cart passed. "That must be it" Ember pointed ahead. A crowd of people all circled around something.

Something we couldn't see.

"Hey! Uhh.... Excuse me?" I tried to push my way through but could barely get close to it. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" Someone pushed us all back and we were back where we started. "Great." Vixen mumbled. "This is just f-" I quickly covered her mouth before she could say it.

A sharp pain shot from my hand as I quickly pulled away letting out a sudden cry. I looked at my hand, now a bit wet and red marks in certain areas. "Did you just bite me?" I stared offended at Vixen. "Yes but that's not the point. What was that for?" I let my hand point to all the crowd before saying it out loud. "There are children Vixen. Don't cuss in front of children!" Vixen let out a short sigh but she knew better than to argue about it.

"Guys! I have an idea!" Ember pointed up at the roof of one of the buildings. I knew exactly what she was going to say and summoned my magic. I flexed my hand and shot my arm up. The earth below me and the other two elevated up until we could step on the roof. Ember did an unnecessary front flip on to the roof while me and Vixen just stepped on it. As soon as everyone was off, I let the ground sink back to it's original state.

Now having a better view, we peeked out to see what the crowd was looking at. "Is that?" I broke off and got lost at what I was seeing. I now knew why the crowd looked so distressed and why it was so obvious how something was very wrong in this town.

In the middle of the crowd was one man. He was turned to stone.

"No way" Ember loudly whispered. "He's made of stone. I saw that guy yesterday and he was fine!" Ember gapped at the scenery. "Apparently, he's not the only one" Vixen told us. "He was the seconds this week. Fifth this month and well, ever. I heard people talking about it this morning while you two slept but I thought they meant he made a statue of himself or something. I wasn't expecting this."

I couldn't take my eyes off his face. He looked so... Shocked.

Vixen's Pov

I looked back at the other two to see that Bliss had jumped off the roof and was now running in the opposite direction. Me and Ember exchanged glances and followed her.

I opened the door and confirmed my suspicions. Bliss had gone back to our room. She had taken out a book and was now frantically flipping through the pages. "What are you doing?" Ember asked quizzically. "If a monster did that," Bliss started to say. "Then some information on it must be in here! Unfortunately there is a small problem." A bad feeling crept up my spine as I asked her what it was. "There about five different things it could be! It could be Medusa or a imp or even some kinds of trolls.." She hummed in frustration.

Me and Ember strolled over there and sat besides her looking at all the possibilities. "I doubt it's Medusa." I told the other members of WIND. "Fair. It could be...." Bliss let out a sigh. "Maybe we should go look for clues or SOMETHING. We got nothing to go on." I nodded agreeing with her. Ember didn't seem to mind. "Split up. Find anything."

After hours gone past, I was SO DONE. It got so flippin cold and I swear if I get hypothermia, I am going to punch someone. Most likely Bliss. Some better have found something. This better not gone to waste.

A red glow came from down below and caused me to glance down. Of course! I almost hit myself for being so stupid. It could only be one thing. I lifted my arm up to be level with my face and soon, the precious red stone let a voice come through. "Ember? Vixen?" I knew the voice too well. "Hey Bliss. Found something?" I spoke clearly without shuddering from the cold. "Yeah I think so. I think I know what it is." I heard Ember let out a whole hearted sigh.

"Finally! Took you long enough. I swear I'm going to freeze. Where are we going to meet up?" "Uh. Currently I'm in a-" A muffled noise came from the other end. I had no idea what the actual heck just happened. "Bliss?" I called. "Bliss are you okay?" Ember's concerned voice flooded through the crystal. "Y-yeah. I'm okay. Hey umm.."

Oh no I thought to myself. Something is wrong. "Come to the tavern by the bill board. It's called the White Knight. I have to check something out..." Then the glow faded suddenly. Hmm...

I waited at the place for a while. Bliss and Ember were both late. I had been her for at least half an hour. "Where are those two?" I mumbled and got impatient and went out looking for them. I traced the town looking for anyone from WIND. Well, besides myself of course. COME ON. Someone? ANYONE?

A dark figure loomed ahead. "Hey!" I called out. They didn't move at all. I kept walking toward them getting a bit weirded out. "Hello? Can you hear me? Helloooooo?" I tried over and over with no response. I swear if they are messing with me.

"Come on! Talk to me! Please!" I tried again. "Oh come ON! I'm saying please!" I finally got within a good range of them. My heart dropped and all senses failed me. no No NO. I took one more step and this time, I knew for sure. It was another statute. A person turned to stone by some sort of sick monster. That wasn't the worst part.

I knew who it was.

The monster had claimed a member of WIND.
