Chapter 24- Something Strange

Bliss's Pov

When you're young, they always say one phrase to pretty much any child.

"If you work hard enough, anything can be done!"

To me, that phrase is utter bull crap.

Well, maybe not all of it. Yes, if you work hard you can get a lot of places in life and most likely achieve your dreams or something, but here's the thing, it cannot bring everything back. If someone dies, you are pretty much out of luck. Unless you have some crazy magic that can bring them back, they will never come back. And even if you do bring them back using magic, there's always going to be one question lingering in your mind for the rest of eternity.

"Is this really them?"

While passing through a town on fine evening, we heard talk of something weird going on in a neighboring town. "Did you hear about FegWood?" They whispered. "They say it's been awhile since anyone left. Plus, my cousin was there the other day and she said that the whole place was strange! There were like, lions who pull chariots and there was treats at every corner! She even said something about a unicorn!"

The three of us all got interested and decided to get some more information on it. "Okay, who's going to ask?" Ember inquired. Nobody spoke up."I'll go I guess." I offered after a minute of silence and strolled over to the people. "Hello, I heard you say something about FegWood having weird things happen?" I pressed when I arrived. "Well you heard right. They say it's like a fairy tale over there!" The person chuckled. "Really? What happened exactly? Is this all not normal?" I started to question the pair of people hoping to get answers.

"Yeah it's really strange! That place was a lot like here but now it's like, well, magical and crap! I don't know what to say! If you're so interested, why not check it out for yourself?" I nodded. "Mind giving me directions?" I brought out some paper. "Yeah no problem! You just have to,"

After writing down where it was, we all set off to check out the place.

They weren't kidding when they said the place was a fairy tale.

There were shops everywhere you turned and all using really cheap prices. I suppose if you had this much competition then sure but it was just plain ridiculous. They weren't kidding about the lions either. There were carts being pulled by the might beasts themselves.

"Okay... This isn't weird at all." Ember looked around in disbelief. I nodded with her. "Yeah I mean, HOLY CRAP IS THAT A UNICORN?" I stopped and pointed to a white horse with indeed a horn on their head.

"Whoa... Let's go pet it!" The inner children took over and made a mad dash to the creature and started to stroke the mane. "Okay now that we are done with that let's go look around some more."

There were bubbles floating in the sky, shops with puppies in them, rainbows and everyone seemed to have no care in the world. Most of them look like they were living their dream. They were laughing while talking to each other and even giving the biggest and slightly creepy smiles to us when we passed. As the sun when down, millions of stars lit up the sky and the moon shined brighter than ever, even though the sun wasn't completely down yet. 

There was one house that was bigger than all the rest. It had a lake behind it, a deer passing through and it was clear that this house was someone's dream house.

 Finally, we had to talk to someone. "Hey! Sir!" I called with the other two following behind me. The man turned and addressed us. "Why hello there! What do you need?"

"Just some quick questions if you don't mind." Vixen said when she caught up. "Okay then, fire away!" He smiled. "Is this all normal or..?" Ember began to ask, not knowing what to say. "Hmmm.... To be honest, not really. This all started about a week ago. These things just started to happen I guess. People questioned it but over time, no one really cares anymore. It's almost like they were told not to or something. Everyone started to get what they wanted."

"Well, what happened first?" Ember questioned. "Hmmm... The first thing that happened? It might have been that one family getting a lot of money, or all these lions arrived and just started to pull stuff... It might have been the rainbows or soap bubbles everywhere... Oh!" He snapped his fingers when he got it. "Mrs. Bennett! She's back!"

We all exchanged looks. "What about her?"

"She's supposed to be dead."
