Wings of Fire: The Forgotten

Night

Current's body was trying to convince him to collapse right then and there. He walked down the hallway to go to his room, just to go to sleep. He shares a room with his friends, but these kinds of things are called divisions. There was the scorpion division, the steel division, the halo division, etcetera. Fortunately for Current he was in the Halo Division. Unfortunately, the Halo Division is the most ridiculed of the bunch.

As he opened the door he noticed all his friends were already there. Blizzard was just lying down on a hammock. He looked at Current and noticed a bruise "I don't even need to ask do I." He said with a little amusement in his voice. As soon as he said that Terra poked his head up. "Current! You're here! Welcome back."

"Terra? You didn't notice the door open?" Current asked.

"No not really." He replied. Current growled a little, mostly out of anger until he saw Shade. She beamed a smile at him. Current felt like his heart skipped a beat as he walked over to her. "So, battle training didn't go too well?" She asked.

Current sighed "unfortunately, no it didn't he keeps saying I need to shape up or try harder. I'm freaking trying, but he keeps saying it, as if I'm never going to live a full life, he just thinks I'm just another dragon."

Shade took Currents talons in her's and twined her tail around his, "hey don't think like that, ThoughtProcessor just wants you to be safe out there in the world when the time comes for us to leave. He's just being hard on you because he cares."

"Haha you said hard on, bow chicka bo-" the combined glare of Current and Shade interrupted him mid sentence. "I'll shut up."

Jackal peered into the room, "hey, it's almost curfew. Go to sleep."  

Current looked up at his pirch. He usually goes up there whenever he needs to think about some things, and it's where his hammock is, the hammock is actually bigger than Terra's and Blizzard's, because Shade and Current share it. One reason is because he knows she's there for him. Current has had some odd nightmares and Shade is always there to calm him down. The main reason though is how cold it gets at night. So they use each other's body heat to warm themselves up. Also they ran out sooooo...

Current's body was really sore, so he beat his wings to lift himself upward. Shade leaped onto the pirch and landed gracefully. She layed down next to him, and put both wings around Current. "Maybe I'll have an epiphany in the morning." He said.

"For what?"

"To kill Oryx"

They almost fell asleep in sync, Current was right, in fact it was in the form of a dream.
