Pain

Current never thought a pain like this could hurt so much, but as soon as he blacked out, it felt like he was on a hammock.

He hoped this was all a dream, a really bad dream. He hoped he was in the hammock with Shade's wing around him, and he hoped he was back in the orphanage, just nothing happened. All a dream.

But how could he have a dream in a dream? No way that's all too real, the odd glow in his scales is real.

Nowhere to go.

Being chained up in the weirdling tower, felt like a dream too, but the terror of being pinned down by Burn was real, it was the kind of fear no one could just think about, sure you could try to think about what that feels like, but that fear would never match what the real experience is like.

Nowhere to run.

Every little pain, every little flick, all real. No nightmare. Just constant pain.

He felt himself opening his eyes, he was right about the hammock, it definitely felt softer than the other, but the same kind of feeling nonetheless.

Current groaned in pain as he got up, to see Terra right in front of him.

"He's alive!!" He yelled.

"We already knew that dumbass." Blizzard said like he was unimpressed that Current was alive.

As he got up he felt a NightWing cannon into him. He thought it was Oryx until she took his talons in hers, twined her tail around his, and hugged him.

"Shade? Didn't you know I was alive?"

"Yeah I knew, but I couldn't stop thinking about you!"

"Well I'm glad to be alive too."

He hugged Shade, but he noticed the green glow advanced to under his chin.

"Aw you look so pretty." She teased.

"So do you," he said grinning.

She laughed, he loved the feeling of her joy, she was always optimistic, so the feeling was always there.

She pulled away from him. Current looked around not knowing where they are.

"Hey uh, do you know where we are?

"The rainforest."
