Oryx paused for a moment, then he gestured to a rack with weapons on it.

"Choose wisely Vehement."

WHAT THE HELL IS A VEHEMENT?! Current yelled in his head.

Another question would be why he called him that, but he should think about that when he's not being faced with certain death.

He looked at the weapons stored on the rack, some of them are weapons he never saw before, like an odd hammer that emits electricity from the tip, another was a bow with a quiver filled with arrows of lightning, fire, and void, and just regular arrows.

Quite the collector, big boy.

Current knew all he needed to do was disarm Oryx, but the taken dragon looks like he has a good grip, so what he needs is something that used force without even trying, but weapon would that be.

"You can take multiple weapons, because I know I'm going to kill you, and I want to make this fight last a long time."

Oh, that's useful.

He took the bow and the hammer, it was probably a good idea to take the bow because SeaWings have no long range defenses.

Current looked back to see all his friends there, "it's probably a good idea to bring your friends to watch me slaughter you." He raised the blade.

"I'm a gentleman, you strike first."

The cobalt SeaWing raised the hammer and ran at Oryx, he leapt into the air and brought the hammer down on Oryx, he moved out of the way and the hammer hit the ground, there was a noise that sounded like an explosion and it sent a bunch of debris flying.

"The Gravity Hammer, wonderful choice."

Wait a minute, this is that animus touched hammer? Score one for me I guess.

If that were the case, he wouldn't need to knock the sword out of Oryx's talons! He would just need to hit him, and it'll knock him over most likely sending the sword a different direction, of course if he can hit him.

He tried this again, running and bringing the hammer down on him, rinse and repeat.

This isn't working, he thought.

He took the bow in his talons and sent arrows flying in rapid succession, Oryx deflected the arrows and ran at him, he leapt and brought the sword down on him, Current jumped out of the way just in time and hit the sword with his tail, after that it felt like it was stung.

Three moons what's that sword made of?!

Oryx sent a flurry of sword swipes at him, he only got cut once, but it felt like the most painful thing in the world, more painful than the glass shards impaled in his back.

Oryx attempted to bring the sword down again, but he rolled out of the way. He tried to hit the sword out of his hands with the hammer, it did make contact, but all it did was bounce off harmlessly shaking Current's bones.

He didn't have enough time to recover because Oryx rammed Current, knocking the wind out of him.

He was on the ground, admitting defeat. He knew he couldn't beat the taken king, he knew that he couldn't have been the one to kill Oryx, and he knew he failed his friends.

"You've failed your friends. Now it's time to give up the ghost. Quite literally in fact."

Wait a minute... What did he just say?

Before he knew it, Oryx's blade came down, Current shut his eyes waiting for the killing blow.

But oddly enough he didn't feel anything, he didn't feel his life slip away. All he felt was a quick sharp breeze, and that's when Shade cried out in pain.

He noticed she was on the opposite side from where she was before, she lay there clutching a wound that looked like a slash.

Shade jumped in front of Current to save him.

He looked at her with shock, and yelled out with a rage he never knew he had, he ran at Oryx with the hammer, to his surprise he didn't notice, and the hammer made contact. Sending Oryx flying in the direction the hammer was swung. The sword was on the floor, he picked it up and ran toward Oryx, and stabbed him in the head. Killing him instantly.

Singe looked horrified, at what she just witnessed, and it took a moment for Current to process what he just did.

He just killed Oryx, the taken king.
