                                                                                     Three years later...

                                                                                          CURRENT

Dear Current,

You have been given orders to locate to an old outpost on the shore of one of the islands on The Bay of a Thousand Scales: Outpost 34-Bravo, failure to comply will result in death.

Captain Shark

"Really... an obsolete base in the middle of nowhere, on an island, in the middle of nowhere. What a winning combo."

He grabbed his hammer and bow, and took off.

As he made his way to the exact island he remembered something about that outpost, it's usually where the "special" dragons go. Another thing he heard is that Shark doesn't usually give death notes out to soldiers if they don't follow orders.

After what felt like two days he made it to the outpost.

"The Vehement is here."

You'd think after three years I would know what that means, I really don't.

They allowed him to pass, there was no one there, it was just him.

He realized they isolated him, at least he's alone, he usually likes peace and quiet, he learned to like it without Shade being there. As long as Terra and Blizzard aren't there, he's all good.

BLIZZARD

The desert is not the place for an IceWing, not at all.

Sure he lived in an orphanage in the desert for ten years of his life, but the orphanage felt insulated, so the heat felt bearable. He had to make sure Burn's forces didn't spot him and Hyacinth, they'd probably leave Hya alone, but he couldn't take that chance.

They were sent there to defend a temple, which had a weapon that could be used to kill a lot of people, and he's not going to let that happen.

A SandWing stopped him and Hya in their tracks, "what are you two doing in the hot desert?"

There was a large group of SandWings near the temple, they seemed to be puzzled, how were they going to open it kind of puzzled.

"We're here to investi-"

Blizzard covered Hya's mouth, "we're here to help get you into the temple," he lied.

"An IceWing and a RainWing trying to get Burn's forces into a temple? Unlikely."

"Uh oh" Hya and Blizzard said at the same time, they both moved as fast as they could to the temple entrance, when they got there, the temple opened for them.

That's odd, why did it open for me and Hya but not them?

They moved into the temple, with a bunch of SandWings on their tail.

"Stop them!"

The temple shut quickly as soon as they made it inside, he could hear them yelling.

How long do we have to hold out?

                                                                                               SHADE

I can't be dead!

Shade was looking at pitch black, she remembered feeling pain before she died, she remembered kissing Current, and his confession that he's been in love with her, she had been in love with him too.

If she was dead why does she remember these things so plainly?

She tried opening her eyes but for whatever reason couldn't, it was weird, she feels like she's moving but in reality she's not.

She tried to open her eyes again, this time she could see.

I'm alive!

She was in what looked like a wasteland, Dreadnaught pieces everywhere, everything just burnt, it was as if everyone died and she was the remaining survivor.

I have to find Current, but where is he?

She didn't have to, but she wanted to. She loves him and he loves her too, if they want to be together finding each other is the best place to start.

Shade felt the place where she was slashed, there was a gnarly scar right there, but it doesn't matter.

She took off toward the sea, hoping she would find him there.

We can live a better life, perhaps the next time around.
