Chapter 13

ROSE 

I Threw Up On The Side Of The Road As I Held Onto A Pole, I Was At The Greyhound Station. I Didn't Know Where The Hell I Was, My Phone Only Had 28% Battery Left And I Only Had $50 Dollars To My Name. I Grabbed My Flat Stomach and Puked up Even More "You’re Making Mommy Sick" I Cried Rubbing My Stomach. I Attempted To Walk But A Hard Budge Knocked Me To The Ground.

"Oh Shit I'm Sorry Ma" A Male Voice Said. I Looked Up At The Golden Man Standing In Front Of Me And Puked More.  "Damn You Okay?" He Asked.

"No! I'm Not Oh Fucking Kay! I'm Sick! I'm Homeless! I'm Tired and Pregnant that’s What I Am!" I Snapped, I Didn’t Mean to Snap on Him Like That But I'm not in a Good Mood. 

"Chill Chill" He Said Pulling Me Up. He Held My Hand and Looked at Me. "Damn I'm too nice" He Said to Himself. "Look I Got a Nice Apartment down The Road You Could Stay with me for the Night" 

"No I Can’t! Where Am I Gonna Go after Tonight?" I Said.

He Sighed. "You Don't Have any Family?" He Asked.

"No I'm Alone" I Lied.

"What About Yo Baby Daddy?" 

"I Don't Know Em" I Lied Again.

"Look I Can't Just Leave You Here Just Come With Me And We'll Figure Some Shit Out Cause It's 3 In The Morning And I Don't Want to You Getting Hurt" He Said 

I See His Mother Taught Him Well. It's Hard To Find Gentlemen These Days Even Though His Pants Were Saggy. 

"Now Come On" He Said. I Followed Him To His Apartment Which Wasn't Too Bad, It Was Nice Actually. 

"Where Are We?" I Asked As He Shut The Door Behind Me. 

 "New Jersey. Where You From?" He Asked.

"Brooklyn" I Said 

 "Well Make Yourself At Home I'm Gonna Take a Shower. . . I Got Some Clothes You Could Wear Well Underwear I’ll give them to You Later, You Hungry?" He Asked 

"Thanks for Everything . . . Not To Many People Would Just Let Anybody Say in Their Homes" I Said 

"I Just Could Let You Stand There While You Threw Up, You Looked Like A Good Girl. But What's Your Name?" 

"Rose" I Said 

"I'm Benny but Call Me Ben" He Said 

"Well Thanks Ben" I Said Giving Him a Smile 

 "You Cool I Need Some Pretty Faces Around Here . . . Ima Hit The Shower" He Said Walking Into His Room And Shutting The Door.  I Sat On His Couch and Turned On His Plasma TV. I Started Watching My Wife And Kids, This Was Episode When Jr Got Vanessa Pregnant. 

 About 30 Minutes Later Ben Came Out Of His Room with A Towel, A Pair of Women’s Underwear, A Big White Shirt and Some Boxers. 

"Are These Safe" I Said Holding Up the Zebra Print Underwear 

"Yeah Yeah I Brought Them for My Ex-Girlfriend But We Broke Up Before I Could Give It to Her" He Said

"Oh" 

 "Well the Bathrooms through My Room And Don't Worry I Won’t Peek" He Laughed 

"Okay" I Laughed 

I Walked In His Room And To The Bathroom, His Room Smelt Like Axe And Fresh Pears. I Shut The Bathroom Door Behind Me And Undressed, I Turned On The Shower And Got In. All He Had Was Axe Body wash So I Washed Myself with That. I Didn't Mind Though Because It Smelled So Good.  After I Finished I Dried My Self Off And Got Dressed In The Bathroom, The Underwear He Gave Me Hugged Me Just Right And They Were Cute Too. I Walked Out Of The Bathroom And Out Of His Room. He Was On The Couch With A Comforter On Top Of Him Fast Asleep. 

"Where I Am I Suppose To Sleep?" I Said Loud Enough Hoping That It Would Wake Him, But It Didn't. I Slept In His Bed Since He Had Taken The Couch. I Lay In Bed Thinking About How Much Of An Angel He Was And Thanking God For Him. 

"Goodnight Baby" I Said Rubbing My Stomach. With That I Was Fast Asleep . . . 

 The Next Morning I Was Woken By Ben Talking On the Phone in the Living Room. I Got Up and Listened By the Door. 

"No I Ain't Hit Her! But She Pretty As Hell! Naw She Pregnant, No Nigga! Oh For real . . . ! A Bitch Huh? Whatever I'll Call You Later. Bye." He Hung Up the Phone and Got Up. He Yawned And Stretched Out, He Was Tatted Oh Boy! He Had Long Hair And Straight Ass Teeth I Hadn't Even Noticed! He Was So Fine.  I Quickly Laid Back In Bed Like I Was Sleep As He Came In. 

"I Know Yo Ass Up" He Laughed.

"Huh? What?" I Yawned Trying To Play It Off.  He Laughed 

 "Do You Have A Charger For My Phone?" I Asked 

 "What Kind?" He Asked 

I Pulled Out My Phone and Showed Him. "Oh Yeah the Cord Right There" He Pointed To the Charger on the Dresser Next To an Empty Packet of Magnums.  I Plugged My Phone Up and Seen All the Texts and Missed Calls. I Read Them All . . . I Almost Cried When I Saw A Texts From Jaden That Read 'Is It Mine’. Is That What He Really Thought Of Me.? The Last Text Was From Alondra I Replied Quickly With 'No I'm Never Coming Back And Tell Jaden I'm Getting An Abortion And That The Baby Is/Was His :D' I Wasn't Getting an Abortion I Was Just Mad But I Wasn't Going Back To That House And Nobody Was Gonna Change That.
