Alondra

Rose cried on my shoulder while Brendon walked around the strangers’ house suspiciously. Suddenly we heard the keys to the door jingle and the knob twist. Everything that everybody was doing came to an end. And our attention went towards the door. Once I saw who opened, it was the guy I saw Rose with at the mall earlier. When he seen me and Brendon in his house, he looks directly at Rose.

“Whoa, what type of party is this?” he asked Rose.

“I’m just here to get my cousin, I don’t mean to intrude.” I spoke up before Rose did.

“I thought you didn’t have any family?” he looked from me to Rose.

Silence. I looked at Rose and more tears started falling down her face. I honestly felt sorry for her at the moment.

“I-I lied.” Rose said only above a whisper. “I’m sorry.”

                “Don’t be.” He assured her.

The room was silenced for a while. I didn’t know what to say next so I told Rose to get her stuff so we can leave. She hesitated for a while but soon decided that she might as well. The guy, whom name I didn’t know, watched her every move almost like he didn’t want her to leave. I wondered how much she told him about herself for him to feel some type of way to see her go. I shrugged it off and we got into Brendon’s car. Rose held her head down when she got into the car not uttering a word. We hopped straight on the highway heading back to New York, which was going to be an hour and a half ride.

It was well after 6 once we reached home. The whole ride was quiet and awkward. When we pulled up Rose started panicking. I thought she had lost her mind for a moment.

“I can’t do this! I can’t have this baby! My life is all wrong!” she cried.

I unbuckled my seat belt and looked back at her. “It’s going to be fine Rose calm the fuck down!”

I got out of the car and told Brendon I’ll call him. I had to damn near drag Rose into my house before she would cooperate. Once we got inside the house nobody was there. Great now maybe she would get a hold of herself. I thought. She sat down on the couch and looked at me. The look said “What do I do now?” and for the first time, I had no idea. It was sort of my fault that was pregnant, but the other half was her fault, she should have protected herself. I wasn’t going to rub that in her face though.

“Do you want to keep the baby?” I asked her. She shrugged her shoulders. “Well you got to make up your mind before it’s too late. And soon you will grow attached to it.”

“I know!” her sudden attitude threw me off.

“Whoa don’t get fly with me, you better be talking to Jaden, he did this to you!” I gave her attitude right back really not meaning to.

She rolled her eyes. “Technically Alondra, you did do this shit to me! If you had never tried to put me on with Jaden I wouldn’t be in this situation!” she stood up and got into my face.

Lord please don’t make me have to beat this bitch down. “Look first of all yes I did introduce y’all, but second, I didn’t tell you to open your legs for this nigga and let this happen.” I pointed towards her stomach. She didn’t say anything else, she just took a seat on the couch with tears in her eyes, and here I am feeling like the bad girl once again.

“Look Rose, I don’t believe in abortions, but this is your life and your baby so do what you want to do. Babies are blessings, so maybe this could be a good thing.” I tried my best to say what I heard from a TV show I had watched when we were in New Jersey. She looked up at me a smiled for the first time.

THREE MONTHS LATER

Ugh June is finally around the corner and so is my birthday. I was excited for the summer time. I did a stroll around my house in my newly gift from Brendon, which was a diamond necklace and bracelet. I stopped to see what the noise was in Rose room only to find her arguing with Jaden who had his shirt off. I peeked in and saw Rose sitting on her bed. I smiled she looked cute with her little belly poking out and her face red. After all she decided to keep her child. I listened in on their conversation.

“What do you mean? I love you Rose you should know that.” Jaden said and my eyebrow shot up.

“Yeah whatever, you told me that a hundred times but you never show it.” Rose said.

“I try my best, you have my baby growing in you, that’s as real as it gets.”

“I hear you Jaden, but you need to step yo fucking game up or something, because always wanting me to have sex with you and bringing me McDs is not showing me that you love me, nigga, like for real let’s be real.” I taught my cousin so well. I thought. I cracked up laughing. They looked towards to door so I might as well let myself be known.

I walked over to Rose and rubbed my hand on her small belly. “Nigga, don’t be stressing my cousin out while she’s carrying my baby cousin.”

“So y’all double teaming me now?” Jaden folded his arms.

Me and Rose looked at each other and started laughing. Jaden was really mad at us talking shit to him. He threw up his arms, grabbed his shirt and was out. I nudged Rose on her shoulder and asked her what was up.

“What do you mean?” she asked twirling a strand of her hair around.

“You know what I mean.” I gave her my look. She knew that I knew her secret about her and the Jersey boy, Ben. I saw him at the house a couple of times but Rose never gave me the scoop. “What’s up with you and Jersey?”

Her face lit up. “Nothiiiiiinng.” She dragged her words. “He’s just a friend.”

“Yeah keep lying, I can see the look on your face.”

She laughed and got up from the bed and looked at herself in the mirror. She put her hands on her belly. “Do you think it’s a girl or boy?”

“I don’t know, but I hope it’s a girl.” She didn’t say anything else. “You coming out with me for my b-day right?”

“Alondra. Look at me, I can’t go out like this.” She told me.

I waved her off. “Girl you are not even that big yet.”

She sighed. “I’ll think about it.” I jumped up gave her a hug and left out of her room. My best friend, Alexis was coming back from Ohio today and I couldn’t wait. Although me and her spelled trouble, when we’re together. I’ll make sure this time that Rose doesn’t get mixed up with the BS…. Well hopefully, Rose was down for anything.
