Last time we met our heroes,Andrew, Andy and Kitty were hiding out in the local spot 'The Cove' and if you're wondering it actually is a real place. Also our friends really aren't acknowledging it but the whole downtown area of our small city is on fire. Its also filled Brotherhood mutants who are hiding from The National Guard. The National Guard believes they're doing the right thing by exterminating the menaces at large. Now, Can Our Heroes Navigate Through This No Man's Land and Save Storm? Stay Tuned and Find Out True Believers!
Andrew's P.O.V
"Well um... Oh yeah so! The Prof says that we need to go find Storm and I've decided I'm in charge and we'll go get her when its dark." I decided to say I was in charge now because I did want to lead, but also since I caught them off guard they'd agree with out thinking. Politics.
"Okay! We've probably got at least two hours and by then maybe our friends in the armed forces will have given up." Kitty said
"Yeah, The Prof also said he'd try and use his telepathy on the solders to try and point out the leader and make em stop looking for us."
"Sweet! So we should stay here until 1 or so right?" Asked Andy
"Yeah man, just to be safe. You guys can do what ever you want I think I'm gonna take a walk around to try and think up a strategy or something for later."
"Do you need help?"
"Nah, you guys should rest. No offense or anything but we're going to have to do a lot of running later."
They both nodded and I exited the small building to try and clear my mind and focus on the task at hand. What was I going to do? I couldn't take the easy way which would be going up Broadway, the only road stretching from downtown to uptown. It would be covered in troops for sure.
From here at the cove to where I think Storm is, in the woods near the football stadium and Mike G's house, is probably at least six miles so running all the way is out of the question. An indirect time consuming route is the only way.
Andy's P.O.V
"That was close."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh come on Kitty don't be like that."
"Listen if you ever try to kiss me again I'll slap you."
"I like it rough like that." I said jokingly and winked. She just laughed. Girls are so difficult sometimes.
"So, after we save the day want to get some pizza?"
"Your whole town is burning and this is all you can think about?"
"I never liked it haha I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation."
"Well, I don't even know anything about this place and I feel terrible after watching it burn like this."
"Destruction is a form of creation. Everything will work out okay."
"How can you be so sure? I don't think things will ever be the same after today."
"The Professor is some other worldly genius, I'm sure he can fix this when it's all said and done. Plus, with the military presence so strong I'm sure mostly everyone has been evacuated."
Just then as if to add the exclamation point of to what I had said Andrew came in through the door with a slam.
"They have helicopters!"
"Just gets better and better" I said
"Well we've got to get moving because once they spot this place common sense will tell them to check it out."
