*Haydens P.O.V*
Louis didn't turn out to be the person I thought he was, he was actually quite nice, and was really easy to talk to. I was feeling quite comfortable around him, and when he asked to see some of my drawings, I actually considered it.
As we continued working on the painting, I couldn't help but notice Louis' toned muscles bulging with every move. I couldn't deny that he was cute, but I didn't want to get close to someone I didn't know anything about.
His words brought me back to reality, "I've been working on this for a while, do you want to give it a try?"
I hesitantly walked over, not wanting to ruin the painting.
"I don't want to mess anything up." I said shyly.
"It's alright I'll help you." I said smirking.
Oh dear, what was that supposed to mean? I thought to myself. I walked over to the canvas looking at the beautiful sky Louis had already painted.
He held out his hand which was grasping a small paintbrush. "Here, I'll show you how it's done." He said smoothly.
I grabbed the paintbrush, still unsure. My hands were shaking slightly as I dipped the brush in the yellow paint.
Louis walked behind me, I didn't quite know what he was doing. Until I felt his large hands wrap around mine. His touch sent chills down my spine. I could feel his warm breath on the back of my neck.
Why did he have this effect in me? I knew exactly the kind of person that Louis Tomlinson was, yet he still left me breathless.
He slowly guided my hands creating swirls on the canvas. In that moment time seemed to stop, and when Louis let go, I felt slightly disappointed.
"See, I told you! It's amazing!" Louis said smiling.
I stepped back to examine our work. The painting was starting to come together, I was impressed.
"Only because you did most of the work." I replied.
It was true without him our painting wouldn't have looked nearly this good.
Louis wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, making sure not to get any paint in his hair. "We need to let this part dry, so do you want to watch a movie or something?" Louis asked me.
At first I wasn't really sure that was the best idea, but we did have some time to kill so I figured Why not?
"Yeah sure that'd be fine." I answered back with a smile.
I followed him into his living room so we could pick out a movie. We decided on Safe Haven. I had never seen it but it was a Nicholas Sparks movie, so I thought it must be good.
Louis stuck it in the DVD player, and pressed play. He sat down next to me a little to close for comfort.
The movie started playing and I was soon met with images of a girl...that lived a life just like I did. The blood was all to real, the screams all to life-like. I had seen this before, only not in a movie. It was a spitting image of my life, flashing before my eyes.
I couldn't help but feel the tears forming in my eyes, or the lump in the back if my throat. I was hoping Louis wouldn't notice how I tensed up, I was afraid he would start asking questions. Unfortunately for me, he did.
"Are you alright love?" He asked. Looking at me straight in the eye.
I couldn't take it anymore. I was already late, and I knew my father wouldn't be happy.
"I um...I have to go." I said rubbing my eyes.
"What? Why?" He asked me.
"I just, I didn't realize how late it was." I told him, trying to make up a convincing lie.
"But it's Friday." He told me slightly laughing.
"I know, but I don't want my parents to get worried." I said, I didn't even sound convincing, I just hoped he would let me go.
"Okay, but it's dark, let me walk you home." He said smiling.
"Oh, no, I only live a few houses down, I'll be fine." I said half smiling.
But apparently he wasn't taking no for an answer.
"We'll if you live so close, then it won't be any trouble at all for me to walk you home." He said cheekily.
I obviously wasn't going to win this discussion.
"Okay fine, just let me grab my things." I said as I walked upstairs to get my stuff.
I came back down to find Louis waiting for me. Wearing a jacket and a dark blue beanie that complimented his eyes so well.
We made our way over to my house.
"I didn't know you lived so close, maybe next time we can get together at your house or somethin-"
"NO!" I said a little too quickly.
I think I actually startled him.
"I mean, my house is too small. It will be much easier to work at your place." I said hoping I covered up the true reason.
"Oh, okay." Louis said awkwardly.
Oh great, now he thinks I'm weird, just great, way to go Hayden.
We finally arrived at my house.
"Thanks for having me over Louis, I think our painting will turn out really well." I said quietly.
"Yeah me too, I'll see you at school on Monday I guess, unless you want to get together tomorrow?" He asked me.
"Oh, sure yeah, I guess I'll come over around noon if that's okay."
"Perfect I'll see you then, bye Hayden."
I waved goodbye and walked inside. I thought my dad wouldn't notice me coming in. I was just about to enter my room, just about to be in the clear, when all of a sudden I felt a strong force throw me against a wall.
My shoulder smacked into the hard surface. My whole arm went numb and tingly. I could smell the alcohol as the words slurred off of his tongue.
"Where the hell have you been!" He snapped at me.
He didn't even give me time to answer before he slapped me across the face. My plans of not getting noticed weren't working out too well.
