*Hayden's POV*

As I walked home I allowed a few more tears to roll down my cheeks. Then I soon realized that Louis was only worried about me I mean who could blame him. I did have quite the ugly bruise.

I walked into my house as quietly as possible. I didn't want a repeat from last night. I walked in to find my dad passed out on the couch. I figured he probably wouldn't wake up but you can never be too sure.

I quietly but quickly made my way up the stairs. To my surprise I made it to my bedroom without any troubles.

I couldn't wait to go to sleep. I was so tired from swimming all day, not to mention I didn't get much sleep the night before. But every time I tried to go to sleep Louis' words kept repeating over and over again in my head. "I actually care."

The thought of Louis actually caring about me put a small smile on my lips. I wish he did actually care, but I knew that was probably just one of his usual lines.

It was pretty late when I woke up the next morning. I already knew what was planned out for my day. I would be taking care of my dad who probably had a terrible hangover.

I quickly got out of bed and got ready. I took a quick shower to get the chlorine out of my hair and the smell of it off my body. I decided to leave my hair in its natural waves and just through on some leggings and the t-shirt Louis had let me borrow a few days ago.

I quickly rushed down the stairs to make some coffee only to see that my dad was already up.

"Where the hell is my coffee it's almost 1:00?" I heard his stern voice say.

"I... I was just about to make it." I stammered.

"We'll hurry up!" He yelled back

I quickly made the coffee and poured him a cup. He snatched it out of my hands allowing some of it to splash out of his mug and onto the floor. I ran over to get a paper towel to clean it up only to come back to more yelling.

"This is awful!" He yelled standing up.

"I'm sorry" he said quietly.

"You better be!" He said pushing me to the ground.

Just as I was about to get up, the mug of steaming hot coffee was thrown to the ground splashing me on my arms.

I winced in pain as the boiling liquid burnt my flesh. I quickly wiped it off and went to get more paper towels to clean up the mess.

"Make another pot of coffee while you're at it. And it better be good!" I heard him say as he walked out of the room.

The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly. I just kept quiet and did what I was told.

At around 10:30 he had gone to bed and left me alone in the living room.

I decided to go to the benches outside of the university since there was nothing better to do. I like to go there because its a quiet place to think. I grabbed my hoodie and phone and walks out the door.

Once I got there I sat down on the usual bench I always sit at. I sat there for a while before I began talking to my mom..

"Hey mom. I miss you." I said

I sat there in silence for a little while before I finally started asking the questions that had been on my mind.

"Is this how my life was supposed to e like?" I asked her.
