*louis's P.O.V*
Rebecca and I ran over to the cop to show him the text I just received from Hayden's farther
"Sir, I just got this text" I said shakily handing him the phone
"Okay, this is good, we may be able to track it back to the place it was sent from" he said walking to his car. "Meet me at the station."
The cop drove away, and Rebecca and I hurried to my car. We hoped in and I started the engine. The police station was only 5 miles from the house, but I felt like we were driving on a never ending highway.
"I can't believe I left her by herself! I'm such an idiot!" I choked out
"Louis listen this is not your fault! Her dad hasn't come after her in so long, how were you to know!" She said rubbing my back. "I actually thought this shit with her dad was done, over with, no one knew he was gonna pull a stunt like this so we need to keep our act together and help."
"I know, but I promised that he wouldn't hurt her again, and I'm positive that promise was already broken" I said a tear running down my face.
"Louis don't say that! We have to stay positive!" Rebecca said calmly.
About 10 minutes later we pulled into the station, and found the police office with my phone. We followed him into a room with a whole bunch of machines.
"Do you think this will work?" I asked nervously.
"Hopefully." He replied
Just then another police man walked in the other half of the machine.
"Alright now there is a 65% chance we can trace the location of the phone. If that doesn't work than we can move to or next option which is having one of you call the phone and try to keep a conversation going for at least 30 seconds. Alright?"
"Alright. Whatever it takes." Rebecca said.
I let out a long sigh and waited for the tracker to finish
*Hayden's POV*
My eyes finally adjusted to the black room, I have been here for over an hour, I'm positive of that. I slowly stood up using the wall for support. I had to get out of here.
I started making my way over to the door using the tiny sliver of light that was peering under the bottom if the door. I tried quietly jiggling the handle... It was locked from the other side. I got down on the ground and looked underneath the door. From what I could tell I was in some sort of a storage closet attached to the side of a garage. There was nobody in the garage, now is my chance.
I reached up into my hair and pulled out a bobby pin. I pulled it apart, and started with the lock. I poked at it every which way I possibly could.
"They make this look so easy on TV." I thought to myself.
Finally after about 5 minutes, I heard a small click. I slowly opened the door, peered my head out and made sure the coast was clear. I shut the door and re-locked it so it looked like i was still inside. I made my way upstairs to look for a phone, preferably my phone.
When I got to the door that lead upstairs it was unlocked, thank god! I listened for any noise, and didn't hear anything. I waited for a minute just to be sure. I opened the door slowly, just enough to peak my head through. I looked around and saw a cell phone on the table! Perfect!
I barely opened the door another inch when it was slammed back in my face, nailing me in my temple.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!" My dad slurred as he ran down after me.
I quickly got up and tried to run around him! Even though it felt like a jack hammer was being slammed on my head i stayed as steady as possible. My dad stumbled drunkily around the basement, so I dashed past him. I double timed it up the stairs, but before I could make it to the top he grabbed my ankle, and yanked me down the stairs. I winced in pain as the wooden stairs splinted my ribs and tore up my stomach. I couldn't let him beat me! Not this time!
I kicked him as hard as I could and I fought and fought with all the strength I had left. I was pretty sure one or more of my ribs were cradled. I kicked him square in the jaw and finally broke free. I sprinted up the stairs this time making it all the way. I ran to the table and grabbed the phone. I turned around and my dad was standing at the top of the steps.
I did the only thing I could think of. I charged at him and with all my might and shoved him down the stairs. It was a little hard since he was a large man, but he rolled down the stairs and landed with a thud, onto the cold cement floor.
I quickly shut the door and locked it so he couldn't get out. There was just one thing still on my mind....
Where the hell was my dads other friend.
"Hey! Is everything okay?" Slurred Brian from the living room.
I had to hurry! I ran over to the closet and shut the door.
I started to dial Louis's number 969-5736....
Beeeeeep
Beeeeeeep
"We're sorry your call could not be completed as dialed please check the area code and the number and try your phone again." The robotic voice came out of the phone.
"Shit no service! What am I gonna do?"
I heard Brian walk closer to where I was.
But then something happened. And I never thought I would be saying this, but my dad saved me.
Well he didn't mean too but he woke up from his daze and started banging on the door for Brian's help.
"What the hell?!" Brian slurred as he walked over to free my dad.
That gave me enough time to make it to the front door entry way. I turned the lock and ran out of the house just as my dad said,
"She's getting away!"
