Arran takes my hand and intertwines our fingers.
"Can we please go back and try to have fun?" he whispers. I nod my head.
"Yeah. I'm willing to do that."
"Thank you." he smiles. "I promise, you will not be alone with her for the rest of the night."
"Okay," I say. We walk back to the house and Robbie opens the door for us. Kallie is sitting on the couch, talking to Sarah as if nothing happened. It's quite awkward in the room once I walk in. A few of the guys stare at me, but they don't say anything. Allie looks at me with a little bit of sympathy.
"Oh, hey Arran!" Kallie smiles. She looks at me and it fades a little. "Hey Emma."
"Hello."
Arran squeezes my hand and then we sit down on the couch that's across from Sarah and Kallie. It's quiet and I don't know exactly what to say, so I simply lay my head on Arran's shoulder. Sarah and Kallie continue to have their conversation while Tony and Justin speak with Robbie.
"Did you tell Robbie?" I whisper quietly. Arran shakes his head.
"No, but by the way you left, I think everyone can figure it out."
I sigh and lean back. I have the worst feeling this is going to be a long night.
The song "I Gotta Feelin'" by Black Eyed Peas is playing loudly as we all dance and laugh. It's five-thirty and we just finished eating dinner. Allie and I are talking and Arran is still holding my hand. He's been by my side all night and I can't thank him enough.
"So, are you enjoying this now?" Allie asks. I nod my head.
"I'm glad that I didn't let Kallie ruin my night." I smile.
"I'm glad too." Arran whispers. I look at him and nuzzle our noses.
"Hey, I'm going to go get a drink. Do you want to come or do you want to stay with Allie?"
"I think I'm good. Kallie won't try anything with Allie here." I smile.
"Okay, I'll be right back. You want a Coke too?"
"Yes please." I smile.
He kisses me on the cheek and then gets up and disappears. I turn back to Allie and we start talking about how school is going.
"What all did I miss?" I ask.
"You missed Mrs. Houston's boring ass lecture on the periodic table," she says as she takes a sip of her Coke. "Victoria and her boyfriend broke up too."
"Seriously?" I ask shocked.
"Yeah. Apparently he found her kissing some other guy. He wanted to be mad, but he was cheating on her with another girl too." she chuckles. "They're like the perfect match made in hell."
I laugh. "You can say that again."
"So how is everything going with you and Arran?" Allie asks. "You two seemed pretty cozy earlier." she winks.
"Everything is fine," I grin. "I'm really glad that I'm dating him."
"You're good for him," she agrees. "He hasn't been getting into a lot of trouble lately."
I nod. "Yeah, I've noticed that too."
Justin walks over and sits down next to Allie. He wraps his arm around her shoulder and kisses her forehead.
"How are you doing Justin?" I ask.
"I'm doing way better thanks to Arran. He helped out a lot while I was hurt. I don't think I can thank him enough for it."
