"Miss Mishima Detective-san, do you like me?"

"Huh? I guess...not the romantic like."

I feel Zero's face slump down. "No one really likes me in a romantic way. Every one of them sees me as a child." He said and I was kind of surprised. This kid wants to have a normal relationship with a girl he likes. Maybe if I save him, he can forget his past and live normally. Like he should.

My phone buzzed continuously and it was Matsumoto-kun. I answered it and Zero took a look at his music sheets and rearranged some notes. "Matsumoto-kun? You called, why?" I asked him. "Mayumi Jen, or Mana, whatever she's called just showed up in the office. She wants to see you." I suddenly trembled. "I'll...I'll be there!"

Is this it? Is this the day that all the mysteries behind the Athena Plan will finally be unlocked?

"Zero, do you want to come with me?" I asked Zero who was holding a pen and scribbling on his wall. The moment I asked him this, his face lit up and he nodded like a kid. He changed clothes and clung onto my arm like I was his mother. "We're going to meet someone you know." I told him. "Who?" He asked and I smiled. "Just somebody." I said and we went off.

We arrived at the station, and Mana was there, sitting politely. Not until he saw Zero and started to run a riot. "Why did you bring him?!" Mana shouted and Matsumoto-kun got in the scene to calm her down. "Zero deserves the truth too." I told her.

"Stop calling him Zero! You're labelling him like one of his experiments!"

His?

Mana finally sat down, panting. She was sweating and she cried so much. The sound of her crying filled up the whole room. "What is going on...? Why is that woman here?" Zero asked me, clueless about everything that's happening. I decided to ignore his question and faced Mana.

"Will you tell us about everything? You're the only person who can make everything brighter."

"Whatever. That's what I came here for anyway."

Mana wiped off her tears and sat up straight. Matsumoto-kun guided her to the interrogation room. I feel nervous, since this will finally be the day that Nine and Twelve will be happy. I'm just continuing their wishes. And I'm happy for them as well!

In the room, Mana sat down and Shibazaki-san was watching outside the two-way mirror. Matsumoto-kun and I sat down at the opposite side of the table. "Let's begin." Matsumoto-kun said. "First off, I want you to answer some of my questions. Why do you want to get rid of Zero? He told us you want to kill him." Matsumoto-kun asked.

"Stop calling him Zero! His name is Shiro! Please!" She exclaimed, and I did not feel anger, I feel an older sister's love.

"Answer the question." Matsumoto-kun said. "Fine. I wanted to kill him so he can be put out of his misery and I can be put out of mine. Everytime I see him, I get hurt because I'm reminded of how my animal of a father allowed his daughter to be experimented on for the sake of his selfish desires. I get that the nationalism is exceptional, but it doesn't mean you have the right to treat another human-being as a test subject!" Mana exclaimed.

I flinch from where I sat. I don't have the right to judge her principles right now, because I think if I were her, I'd do the same. Kill my brother to save us both. I now agree it is a rational thing to do, only for the sake of bringing back your happiness. Because truly, what happiness is there in misery?

"Okay now, who is the real basis of Athena Plan? I can't be purely convinced that it's Zero."

"I'm telling you it's him."

I opened my mouth to say something, but I closed it again since I don't know how to put my words in exact order. But still, I say something. "Surely, Jen, it's you. You're the basis. It may have been Zero at first, but you having exceptional skills made your father want to improve them. Your succession is what triggered him to do more. To kill more children." I told her and she clicked her tongue.

"Maybe, since I'm the only one with a different label."

Different label? What does she mean?

"My label wasn't a number, it's a letter. I'm experiment A. Which stands for Athena."
