Matsumoto-kun and I went back to the station.

"You were calling for us?"

"Did you succeed on finding Zero?"

Shibazaki-san asked, staring at us. "Yes." I said. "That's good to know." He said. I'm surprised he wasn't angry. "You won't be assigned missions until you solve the case. The Athena Plan was a case the police has given up on." He said and grinned.

"But not you two."

I smiled at Matsumoto-kun. That's right. We will never give up on this case until we discover the deeper truth. That darkness covering Zero. We will shine light on it. "Do you wanna hear a story?" Shibazaki-san and Matsumoto-kun grunted. "Stories..." He mumbled.

"This is in relation to your investigation. I hope you'd listen closely Matsumoto-kun."

"Whatever."

Shibazaki-san took a deep breath. "Head Fukushi Seiou discovered the Savant syndrome when he was in the last year of his college. 6 years later, he had a son named Fukushi Shiro which his wife gave. Hating the name, he gave him a name based on the number Zero. He brainwashed his son to always work hard on music because he is a music savant after all.

"Having the desperation to make his son be smart on politics, Zero can't because he just showed exceptional abilities in music. Savants also have low IQ. However, Zero has a sister that was an art Savant. But, she ran away from home 15 years ago, knowing their father's intentions.

"To make artificial Savants and finally make Japan an independent country."

Matsumoto-kun gritted his teeth. "What a monster." He said. Yes, the father, Fukushi Seiou is indeed a monster. Why would he do that to his own children? So, that's when the partnership with Dr. Mamiya started. That's when they came up with the idea of using 26 children as test subjects.

"Is he dead?"

I asked Shibazaki-san. He nodded. Karma really does happen. But what about the sister? Is she doing alright? I hope, she's doing okay. She did the right choice.

Running away.

But for me. it was never an option. I don't want to run away from my life. Even if I had to. Trying to reset your life is hard enough. I just want to do something to change it, not to reset the whole data.

"Where's the girl? She ran away right?"

"Sorry, we have no information of her."

I clenched my fists. "We'll find the girl! We will find her and make her tell her side of the story! We have to!" I shouted. My strength and pride cannot be vanquished now. I'll do my best!
