Everyone is born good at heart. The meanest person once had a kind heart till pain overwhelmed it and changed it. They changed because a change of heart is one of the only ways to fight their pain.
If they closed their heart and blocked off the world, it'll be easier than letting everyone in and suffering at the same time. That's why people build up walls. Only those who care enough will break it down.
