Chapter Five

    The weekend is finally here. It's Friday night and I couldn't be happier to be off. I don't have to go to work until later on tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to go spend the night at Tai's. I walk through the door and Emory is in the living room watching TV.

    "Hey girl. How was work?" She looks up at me.

    "It was good. Glad I have a short shift tomorrow. How was your day?"

    "Same old, same old. Nothing new."

    "Girl I hear you."

    I start to walk towards my room and turn around.

    "Wait, what happened to that date you had? You never told me about it."

    "Oh," she smiles, "it was great. We talked over dinner and got to know each other better. I had fun."

    "That's good. I'm glad you enjoyed it. So who is this mystery guy?"

    "I'm not telling yet. We're still feeling each other out."

    "Well, I hope this works out. I'm ready to meet him."

    "Me too," she smiles.

    "What're you doing tonight?"

    "Staying here like always."

    "You wanna come over to Tai's with me? We're watching movies."

    "No, I don't want to be a third wheel."

    "C'mon Emmy, you know it's not like that. We're all friends."

    "I know, but I like to give you guys your time. Maybe we can plan something for the three of us another time."

    "You mean the four of us."

    She laughs, "Maybe!"

    I make my way into my room and pack my stuff. I tell Emory bye and make my way downstairs to my car. Once inside, I text Tai to let him know I'm on the way over and to order us a pizza and wings.

    I pull up outside and walk up to Tai's apartment. I knock on the door and wait a few moments. The locks click and Tai opens the door.

    "Hey babe," he smiles.

    "Hey!" I grin and hug him.

    It feels so good to be in his arms again. I missed him so much. I let go and he kisses my lips. I slide my tongue into his mouth and enjoy every moment of it. We pull apart and he looks a little shocked.

    "Damn," he says.

    "I missed you," I bit my lip.

    "I see that," he looks me up and down.

    I turn to talk into the living room and he slaps my ass.

    "Ow!" I rub the spot he hit then slap his arm.

    He laughs and we go into the living room.

    "What movie are we watching?" I sit on the couch.

    "You seen Ride Along 2 yet?" He sits next to me.

    "No, I been wanting to see it."

    "Me too."

    There is a knock on the door and Tai stands up.

    "Must be the pizza."
