Its LeviOsa! Not Leviosarr!

The end of the day arrived and I was exhausted. Ginny, Hermione and I were sat on the floor next to the fire giggling and listening the music from the record player. "You know, there's a really cool record shop I know of back in London! It's in Camden. It's great! Next term off, I can go and buy a few vinyls with really cool muggle music! I think you'd really like the bands I listen to, Ginny" I said, Hermione agreed.
"Ok," Hermione laughed, "now concentrate! Wengardium Leviosa!" She flicked her wand and made a scrunched up bit of paper float and she put it in the fire.
"Ok, got it," I lifted my wand, this was my first time trying magic and I was seriously excited. "Wengardium leviosar" I said flicking my wand about.
"Oh, God. No, no, no, no, stop!" She held her hand out, "this takes me back to first year with Ron... It's LeviOsa. Not Leviosarr!" She said
"Oh bloody hell," Ron's voice came from behind, "not this again..."
"I'm just teaching her the basics Ronald," Hermione rolled her eyes
"Good luck with this one, Maria. An absolute nightmare she is," Ron was holding two books in one hand. He was wearing a green jumper and grey baggy jeans.
"Just because you have the attention span of a toothbrush and refuse to practise does not make me a nightmare! It just makes you stupid!" Replied Hermione.
Ron looked at her absently. "Just to let you know," he began, "last time, this ended up with us nearly being killed by a troll in the girls bathroom" and he went up the stairs with his books into his room. Just before he shut the door Hermione shouted back "and who's fault was that?!!"

She whipped her head back towards me. "Ready?" She asked frustratedly.
"Trolls?" I asked.

Hermione glared up for a moment in frustration and took a breath before looking back at me.

"Ok, remember, swish and flick," she said.

"Wengardium Leviosa!" I recited with a swish and flick of my wand.

The spare scrunched up paper reserved for my practise rose into the air. I was so proud of myself. "I'm doing it! Hermione look!" I squealed like a child. Hermione and Ginny laughed and clapped. I put down my wand and the paper dropped into my lap.

The rest of Gryffindor clapped and cheered for me. I got up and bowed and blew kisses like I a celebrity. Thought I'd keep the atmosphere a laugh.

"Well done, Maria!" Said Hermione as I sat back down.
"Thanks!" I replied leaning against the sofa. The dorm settled and I watched the fire.

"Hermione?" I asked
"Yes?"
"Dumbledore said Harry and I were connected. On the train, when he fainted, I fainted,"
"Well it makes sense. I mean if your connected in a physical sense then you must be able to experience what the other is feeling or even doing" she explained
"But it's not just that," I continued, "Dumbledore also said, the reason we were kept apart was because we were dangerous. That we're more powerful when we're together. That thing with the fire a few weeks ago. I've never been able to do that. That's never happened before. What if, together, we're bad. What if we're bad? I mean, even the sorting hat was adamant on putting me in Slytherin-"
"Maria, listen to me," he put her hand on my leg, "together you are not bad. You are just stronger. I can't tell you why because I don't know, but I promise, you and Harry are good people. You could never go bad,"
"Hermione, I'm scared. The other day during Magical Creatures. The weather change. It was me. I couldn't control it,"
"I told you when you first set fire to the fireplace. You need to tell Dumbledore. If not Dumbledore then another teacher who you trust".

I knew exactly who to go to. That was Professor Snape.

The next morning came and I woke up an hour early so I could go and find Professor Snape. I needed help and he is the only one who I feel can actually help me.

I brushed my teeth, put on a bit of makeup, tied up my hair in a high pony tail (ignoring the long baby hairs sticking out beside my ears) and put on my robes. As usual, I kept my phone in my pocket, despite not being able to use it. I didn't feel ready to tell Snape and I didn't want to tell him either. Maybe it's because I'm scared of the result. I fear the outcome. Worst case scenario: I have to leave Harry.

I went downstairs into the common room. Neville was the only other Gryffindor already awake. He sat at the small table against the wall underneath the big portrait of a knight reading a book. He heard me come down so he smiled at me and looked back down at his book. I smiled back.

I went and sat on the sofa. I tapped my foot and bit my fingernails. I knew I should've left the dormitory already but I didn't even know where to find Snape.

"Are you ok?" Said Neville from behind me. He was stood right behind me with another book half open, his thumb holding the page.
"Yeah," I replied hoarsely, "I'm fine,"
He didn't buy it, bless him. He shut his book, came around the sofa and sat next to me. He was a very awkward boy and didn't have a lot of confidence. "Why are you up so early?" He asked
"Why are you?" I replied
"Light reading," he held up his book and smiled awkwardly.
"Potions for Dummies?" I read out the title of the book, "they have Dummies books in the wizarding world?"
"Um, I guess so?"
"Well, why are you reading that?"
"Uh... I'm not doing too well in Professor Snape's class. I suppose I want to do better so I'm trying to catch up. I mean, I'd ask him, but the truth is... He kind of scares me a little bit," he admitted. I laughed, "scares you? Oh, come on! He's an excellent teacher!"
"Oh, I know! I don't deny it, it's just, he's head of Slytherin house, you know? He gives me the creeps- the way he walks, talks, looks at everyone with them weird hollow eyes..." He wriggled his body like he got the chills.
I laughed still, "I think you're being silly".

It was silent for a moment, "hey, Neville? Where is Professor Snape right now? Like, where would I find him?" I asked
"Right now?"
"Right now, Neville,"
"Well, he'd either be still in bed down at the Syltherin house or getting ready for his lessons,"
"In his class? Where we usually have potions?"
"Yes, in the dungeons," he explained.
"Wonderful, Neville! Thank you," I got up and began to leave.
"Wait!" Called Neville and followed me to the door, "you're not going now are you?"
"Yeah, why not?"
"Well, it's- it's just that- that-" he said anxiously
"That what?"
"You're not really allowed, I don't think?"
"Oh, Neville!" I turned just as I opened the door, "rules are meant to be broken," I smiled and I left.
