We were now emerging the bridge towards Hagrids hut, where the next lesson was to take place. We all left the class feeling down and anxious. Hermione was definitely making Harry and I feel better. I didn't tell any of them what I found in my cup. Only Neville knew. But even he hadn't told anyone. "Death omens. Honestly. If you ask me, Divination's a very wooly discipline. Now Ancient Runes. That's a fascinating subject," she stated
"Hang on," said Ron "ancient runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this year?"
"A fair few," she replied looking straight
"Ancient runes is the same time as divination. You'd have to be in the same place at once!"
"Oh, don't be silly, Ron! How can anyone be in two classes at once?" She snapped. Ron dropped it. "Broaden your minds!" She mocked professor Trelawney. I laughed with her while Ron and Harry moved sluggishly towards our next class. Care of magical creatures.

Hagrid was rumoured (to me) that he loved all sorts of animals. He's kept dragons, giant spiders, three headed dogs and many other grotesque creatures in his hut. Even something so dangerous he believes can be taken care of. I think Hagrid is sweet. However, I did wonder if he was vegetarian.

As we approached his cute hut, Hagrid walked out from behind it waving at us, excited for his first lesson. Harry, Ron and Hermione all ran towards him to say hello. Harry stopped and turned to look at me, "you coming?" He asked. I smiled and told him I'd catch up. I felt a bit overwhelmed. Not by his presence as I haven't really seen much of him, but by everything that's happened. By my phone not being able to be charged. By not having Molly by my side everyday. By not causing trouble. Speaking of trouble-

"Hey," said a breathless Draco who heavily went from a run to walking by me. I could see Harry looking concerned as he saw Draco approach me. I sort of ignored him and looked ahead at Harry. "Hey?" He repeated.

Again i didn't reply. I wanted to ask him what he was doing outside Olivanders shop but it wouldve just been too easy for him to get away with.

"Hey," he softly took hold of my lower arm and stopped me. The cold wind blew my hair in my face and mouth so I tucked it behind my ear. "Are you mad at me?" He asked, looking a bit hurt.
"Am I mad?" I answered in frustration.
"Look, you- we were both out of line. Ok?"
"No. You were out of line."

Draco sighed with anger and backed up. He shook is head and continued to walk down the hill, hands in his robes. "Potter," I heard him nastily greet Harry. Harry nodded in return. He looked back at me, his face asking me if I was ok. My face answered, no.

Getting closer and closer to the paddock, I could hear flies and smell something strong a smell. Hanging, was dead ferrets, dry blood stained on their fur. Below that and around was a giant pumpkin patch. Big pumpkins, small pumpkins, deformed pumpkins; they were all different in abnormal size and colour.

"Gather round erry one, gather round!" Hagrid waved, "I've got a special treat fer yer all today!"

We followed him to the outskirts of the forbidden forest where there was the smell of lake water and mud. "Now, first thing yet wan ter do is open yer books-"
"And how exactly do we do that?" Interrupted Draco
"Stroke the spine of course!"
Everyone took out their monster books. A book which I did not have. I was meant to have collected that when Hagrid and I went to Diagon Alley. I'm surprised he didn't realise it himself considering he's the teacher.

"Right, so you've got the books! Now you need the magical creatures! - uh... I'll... Just go get that for yers'" he said before waddling away.

"I can't believe they've got this oath teaching classes," said Draco loud enough for everyone to hear, "this place is going to the dogs if you ask me."
Harry was infuriated. He went over to Draco, his friends, Crabbe and Goyle, and the feast of the entertained Slytherin group. "Shut up, Malfoy" he said. Draco looked frightened. He pointed at Harry and screamed "Dementor! Dementor!" Harry fell for it and turned around. The whole Slytherin group laughed at him and made fun of him by putting up the hoods of their cloaks. My blood boiled, I wanted so badly to punch him right him the face. Hermione went over and pulled Harry away a gave a sarcastic laugh to them. Then a girl with straight,  jet black hair pinned behind her ears with parts of her fringe left to hang out at the sides looking as sharp as her nose said "what's the matter Potter? Scared!" She laughed making the rest of her house laughed even harder, "are you scared!" She yelled. I ran towards we impulsively and knocked her to the ground. She gave a small but sharp shriek. My fists were clenched. I was so angry! Everyone was silent and she remained on the floor in shock. "You say a word against my brother... " I said through my teeth "and I'll kill you". I watched her carefully. I was still so angry. The clear sky went dark and the wind became stronger. I could feel my skin heat. My temples were ticking at my brain and I could feel my right eye picking up a nervous twitch. Then I felt a kind hand on my shoulder. "It isn't worth it," Hermione whispered. I calmed down instantly and walked away. Many Gryffindor's patted me on the shoulder. I was very embarrassed by my outburst. I turned around and the girl was stand up beside Malfoy picking leaves off of her robes. She was watching me while speaking to Draco who's arms were crossed.

Hagrid came back with truly magical creature. "Say hello to Buckbeak!" He introduced this huge, beautiful animal which looked like a cross between a white feathered eagle and a horse. "Hagrid!" Burst Ron, "what exactly is that thing?"
"That, Ron, is a Hippogriff. First thing you need to know is that Hippogriff's are very proud creatures. You do not want to insult a Hippogriff. Coz' it migh' well be the las' thing ye'll ever do," he said sternly, "now! Who wants to pet him!"

The whole class stepped back leaving Harry and I looking like we've come forward to pet the animal. We looked back and looked at each other. So I stepped back and crossed my arms. Hagrid turned around and saw Harry, "good man, Harry! Well done!" Harry looked at me with desperation in his eyes. I smiled and watched him 'volunteer' by stepping a little bit more forward. "Now, follow my instructions very carefully, do you understand, Harry?" Hagrid said. Harry nodded and he continued. "Ok, get a little bit more closer - not too much - and bow. If he bows back, then you get to pet him. If not- well... We'll get to that bit later"

The tension was so high in the air. I was worried for Harry. Everyone was, apart from the Slytherins pushing to the front, hoping to see Harry get hurt. Draco, obviously leading them and shoving people out of the way. I felt anger again. "Just forget it," whispered Hermione again, holding my arm. I nodded and watched Harry. You can do it, I thought to myself. Go on! You can do it! I thought.

Harry got closer and bowed. Buckbeak shrieked and stamped his hoofs into the ground flapping his giant wings. "Back off, Harry! Back off!" Said Hagrid. Harry took a few small steps back but stayed hunched over bowing. A moment passed when I (and probably everyone else) thought Harry was done for. Buckbeak walked towards him slowly and sniffed him, then the bird bowed back placing his front leg forward and it's beak nearly touching the dirt. The dreadful tension broke straight away and everyone clapped. "Well done, Harry! Well done!" Hagrid said while Harry nervously stroked his beak. "Rough', think he'll let you ride him now!" Hagrid picked up Harry and placed him on Buckbeaks back. "Woah, woah, woah! Hagrid! No!" He stuttered.
"Don't pull out any of his feathers," explain Hagrid, "coz' e' win' thank ye' fer' tha'" he said before slapping Buckbeaks bottom, sending it and Harry shooting through the air and up. The entire class was mesmerised. Everyone was rushing around finding space beneath the trees to watch Harry ride the Hippogriff.

I didn't need to look for Harry.

I got this really weird sensation. My heart was racing, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. The feeling of breathlessness over came me and I closed my eyes. I saw blue sky, the sun shining brightly on the horizon, the trees of the forbidden forest and the huge lake glistening. I could feel and hear wind. I felt Buckbeaks feathers. I was seeing what Harry was seeing. It was amazing. I was smiling and I felt like screaming out of joy. Then I heard Harry scream "wooooooo!" And my eyes shot open. "Maria! Are you ok?" Hermione asked holding my shoulders. "Brilliant!" I said exasperated. Then, Harry landed. I was beaming.

Harry ran over to me. "Did you see it?" He asked excited. I was surprised, "how did you know!"
"I felt it! And I heard you - in my head - I heard you! You were telling me I could do it! And I did!" He said matching my thrilled excitement. We hugged shaking from the adrenalin.

"You're not dangerous at all, are you?" Draco stormed towards Buckbeak, "you great ugly brute". He did it. The one this he was specifically told not to do, and he did it. Buckbeak rised on his hind legs, locking his front and his great wings slashed Draco. Hagrid jumped I front of Draco and yelled Buckbeaks name, and Buckbeak new he was in trouble and stood down. He threw a piece of raw meat away from the students, "away with you, you silly creature!" He muttered.

"Oh, he's killed me! He's killed me!" Malfoy screamed rolling around on the floor like an injured footballer. Blood streaming from the gash in his arm (which he deserved). "Calm down!" Hagrid panicked, "it's just a scratch!"
"Hagrid!" Screamed Hermione, "you have to take him to the hospital!"
"Righ'. Im the teacher, I'll do et'" he picked up Draco and began to walk toward the castle. "Class dismissed!" He announced.
"You're going to pay for this!" Cried Malfoy, "you and your bloody chicken!"
