Visiting Hogsmeade

We went through the portrait hole and through a long, dark and cold tunnel. It smelled like wet moss and we could hear trickling water echoing through.

As it was so dark, Harry took to his wand and cast a spell to which he enchanted "lumos". A ball of beautiful, bright, white light beamed from the tip of his wand and illuminated the stone tunnel.

I took out my Dragon Heartstring and attempted the spell. It worked almost immediately.

We removed the cloak and revealed ourselves, only to the glistening stone walls of the tunnel.

As we walked we spoke.

"Do you actually like Malfoy?" Harry asked looking down at the map.

I thought for a moment.

"Dunno... at first I thought he was kind of cool, but now..."

"He's really showing his true colours, isn't he?" Harry said quickly.

"What?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"What?"

"Were you friends or something?"

"No," he laughed, "from the day we met, we despised each other. Straight away, he was condescending, self-centred, pretentious... people like Ron and Hermione were and still are inferior to him,"

"So why did he take so kindly to me?" I asked

"Honestly..." he began thoughtfully, "i don't know. Ron and I thought he was using you as a way to get to me-"

"But he spoke to me before he knew you were my brother," I interrupted defensively

"I'm- look, Malfoy only befriends those who are useful to him. I don't want him to use you,"

"What could I possibly have that he could want?"

"Your power on his side," he replied quickly.

"Been rehearsing this conversation, have you?" I agitatedly asked.

"I've been thinking about it a lot... it's because i'm worried-"

"Well don't be," I retorted as we reached the exit to the tunnel.

As he went first to climb out of the trap door above our heads, I took his hand, "I can take care of myself, Harry. If I ever need your help, I will ask you for it," i said in a more calm and relaxed manner.

He poked his head out of the hole to assure that the coast was clear. We covered ourselves with the invisibility cloak and went through. We seemed to be in the back of a shop. We could hear loud voices coming from the front and decided to follow those.

As we got closer the voices got louder and once we opened the door, it was like a speaker had just turned on next to our ears.

The colours in the shop were phenomenal. All the sweet reds, whites, pinks and blues in jars, trays and drawers looked sickeningly delicious. Scales were floating in the air weighing these shiny, golden, square sweets, and strings of red twisting sticks were poring out of the nose of this sculpture of a goblin, who looked like it was mid-sneeze.

Many faces were recognised.

Seamus and Dean were at the front of the confectionery shop eating their red twisty sweets and they were in tears laughing at the high voices that were coming out of their mouths. It really was truly hilarious to listen to Seamus' Irish accent in such a high tone.

Harry and I were just about to leave the shop when we suddenly heard this boy from Ravenclaw say to Seamus, "so what's going on with that Potter girl?"
