Chapter 2

I look at the hill that awaits my footsteps. I look around once more feeling destroyed. Just wanting to get home and scream into my pillow. I pick my head up and sigh, as the long walk home doesn't appeal to me.

It's all his fault anyway, his stupid arm candy stole him away from me. I'm just surprised that he would forget me. It's a tradition that he and I always go home together after school.

Half an hour later, I have made it about halfway to my house. I smile at the fact that the sun isn't out and burning my skin, mocking me as I walk like most days when Reece isn't at school and this is the only option to get home. I look at my phone wanting to hear from Reece, his apology that he left me behind. That he is ditching Mia and coming to get me. That he is in love and could bare to leave me ever again. His many calls telling me he that he can not stop thinking about me. But I'm disappointed as there are no notifications. I shove my phone back into my pocket of my jeans forcefully being angry at it, but really being angry at myself for letting those stupid fantasies get to me.

Clouds rumble overhead bringing rain to the ground. Mini-bombs of water explode all over the pavement and me. How can this day get any worse?

I continue walking, pushing through the heavy shower as if it doesn't bother me. A cold shiver running through my spine as I give up walking and start to run to a small tree.

The sound of a motorbike roars up the hill behind me and starts to slow down, as it gets closer to me. That's how the day gets worse.

When Cole Turner is heading straight towards you.

His smile grows bigger as he recognizes me. His motorbike drips in the rain the metal holding races between two droplets as they compete to get to the ground the fastest. I turn my head quickly and face the small tree that is sheltering me. If you don't look at him maybe he will ignore you.

But no. He parks his motorbike on the road next to where I'm standing.

"Need a ride?" I shake my head and shiver from the cold. Rain smashes on me, slipping past the branches of the tree and finding their way to me. He chuckles as I pretend to ignore him. "I think you do. The weather's just going to get worse."

"I'm fine here." I turn my head and glare at him. What's his problem? Can't he take no as an answer?

"At least take my jacket." Cole takes off his black leather coat and holds it out for me. I turn around sharply and he begins to start up his motorbike. His eyes are full of concern.

"What do you want from me?" I spit at him not bothering to take the coat until I get an answer. He tilts his head and then motions for me to take it again. The rain begins to get heavier. My clothes start to suck up the rain that the tree is doing a crap job of protecting me from.

"I just want you to take the jacket." He answers. I sigh. He knows what I really mean. I throw an annoyed look at him and take my chances to get away from him. I launch into the rain, sprinting away from him. The rain continuing to pitter-patter onto me. His motor growls as his bike he begins to pull away from the curb and come after me. I smile satisfied the fact that he is going and let out a small laugh of achievement as I begin to pick up the pace.

I expect to see his motorbike zoom off in the distance, but nothing comes except for him to only blast forward and go onto the footpath, blocking my escape and making me come to a sharp stop before I bump into him in a hot heap. He doesn't bother turning off his bike and looks angrily at me. "Take the jacket." He motions as he throws it towards me. I catch it and look at him. His dark blue eyes filling with rage. Why the heck is he getting angry?
