We had been on planet 10 for a few months and things were doing very well. We had managed to start growing food, and we were thriving on this planet.

One day we all had to gather around to hear and announcement. We all waited anxiously to hear the announcement. After everyone was gathered, a man walked up to the front of the crowd to start talking.

"Life on this planet is good. We have started off well here, but we can't start all over. This is a good place, but we don't know how long this planet will last." He paused for a minute and then continued to talk. "This is why the elders and the Board members have decided to start something new. We are going to have drawings. In these drawings we will draw one eligible persons name and we will send them down to Earth to decide if it is livable so we can return. Eligibility is determined by age, anyone over 13 and younger than 50 is eligible to put their name in for the drawing and it is mandatory that they do so. If you all go back to your areas, and back to your rooms someone will be by to take names for the drawing. You all are free to go now."

This was crazy, there were a lot of people that would love to be on Earth, but I don't think there was anyone that was willing to risk their life to do so. The board members were kind of like our government, they make decisions based for survival and to keep us safe.

We all started walking back to our rooms and waited for someone to come by. May, Lillie, Michael and I lived in the same room now, to keep the family together.

We sat around and waited until a man came up to take names. He walked in and sat down while everyone in the room gathered around.

"I'm here for eligible peoples names."

"Ok, well everyone in this room is here so you can ask all of us if we are eligible." I said.

"Ok then, let's start with you. How old are you?"

"I'm sixteen."

"Ok, what is your name?"

"Raley Rowe." I answered as he scribbled it down on a piece of paper.

"Ok, how about you? What's your name and how old are you?" He asked May.

"I'm seventeen, and my name is May Rowe." She answered as he scribbled her name down too.

"Ok, how about you?" He asked Michael.

"My name is Michael and I'm twelve."

"Ok, and you?" He asked Lillie.

"My name is Lillie and I'm thirteen." He wrote her name down too.

"Wait, she's only thirteen you aren't seriously adding her to the drawing are you?" I asked.

"Thirteen and older. Sorry but it's my job."

He went through the rest of the people in my room and then left. I sat down, and Lillie walked up to me.

"What was he doing?"

"He needed to know our names for a drawing."

"A drawing for what?"

"For a prize."

"What's the prize?"

"You don't need to worry about it, just go to bed."

"Ok."

She walked off to go to bed, as did the rest of the younger kids, and us older kids shortly after.
