Chapter 8

Sitra finished packing her bags as she got a text on her phone. Since she'd found out a week ago that her best friend had lost her baby she had been packing up everything. She was already having a long distance relationship with a man she'd met on a business trip. She planned on moving in a few months. But her girl wanted out now. So they were leaving.

Meanwhile, Roman sat watching Genisis's brother, JJ, & father, James Sr., throw bags into her car. He wanted to go over to beg her to stay. But not only wasn't it his place anymore, her brother would probably kick his ass if he did. He was fresh from deployment and looked ready to kick someone's ass. Roman wasn't about to volunteer.

Genisis stepped out of her house and slowly made her way to her brand new Jeep Wrangler. She smiled as she thought of Sitra's comment. Dirt roads and fields where we're headed Gen.

"All set?" JJ asked.

She nodded to her brother and hugged her father. He kissed her forehead as he looked across the road to Roman. Son of a bitch.

"You call us as soon as you and Sitty get to your destination." James Sr said as he released her.

Genisis smiled as she said, "Yes Dad. I'll call you and my big protective brother the second I put my bags down. Okay?"

He smiled and released her. She hugged her brother and stepped into her car where Taylar and Baby sat waiting. They had a long drive ahead of them. A very long drive.

She looked back at Roman's car before pulling back into the street. She stopped next to him and he had tears on his face. She threw her car in park and exited her jeep as he did. He embraced her and she allowed him. Why was she letting him touch her? Hell she didn't even know. She just knew he was hurting at the loss of their baby as well. They would've named him Julius Ransom Duke-Mitchell.

"I'll miss you." Roman whispered.

She pulled away and looked up into his piercing eyes. He smiled slightly.

"I mean it. I'll miss you, Gen." he said with more urgency in his voice.

She smiled briefly before she turned to see her brother taking off his shirt.

"You better go." she said to Roman.

"Yeah. Bye Gen." he replied.

He rushed back into his front seat and was screeching down the street as JJ reached the middle of the street. Genisis shook her head and hopped back in her Jeep. She pulled off in the opposite direction. She looked back at Taylar and smiled.

"I can't wait to see the horses, Mommy!" Taylar shouted.

Genisis smiled and said, "Maybe someone can sell me one. I'll teach you to ride how PawPaw taught me."

"Yaayyy!!" Taylar cheered.

Taylar clapped her hands as Genisis laughed. She looked to Baby through the rearview. He was asleep on the seat. It was pretty early in the morning. She looked back to Taylar.

"Take a nap Pooh." she said as she turned the radio on low.

"Yes *yawn* Mommy." Taylar replied.

Genisis dialed Sitra as she pulled up to her house. Sitra instantly emerged from her house and threw the last of her bags in her Jeep that she'd got her name painted on the back of. She smiled to Genisis as she waved.

"We gotta shop for you some warmer clothes Gen," Sitra shouted. "Gone die tryna be all covered up where we going!"

Genisis was truly dreading this. Although she didn't completely hate her body. She wasn't that comfortable with it to walk around showing a bunch of skin. She wasn't that brave. Besides. Who wants to see a human whale walking around? She rolled her eyes and followed her girl to the nearest mall. Here goes nothing.

So I know this is a little short but I have to go to work.

James Sr (Genisis dad) as Idris Elba. He just always seemed so fatherly to me. Plus a gorgeous woman like Genisis needs sexy family.
