Genisis stood from her new king size bed and walked into her master bathroom. She smiled at the fresh floors Brian had installed for her. In only a month he had this old place almost completely back to its old self. She stepped out of her pajamas and went about her daily hygiene before getting dressed for the day. A pair of blue jean pants, simple white spaghetti strap shirt and a pair of boots she'd gotten from in town was all there was to her outfit.
She walked downstairs as she twisted her hair up and clipped it in the back. She smiled upon seeing Brian through the window, already hard at work repainting her porch railing that he'd did a little work on. She opened the door, allowing the smell of paint to breeze by her nose. He smiled to her and she smiled back.
"Good morning, Gen." Brian greeted.
"Good morning," she replied. "Have you eaten breakfast? Want anything?"
He smirked as he gave her the once over. She felt her face heat up. She knew he had a little crush on her. But she had no intentions of getting any closer than friends with his young ass. He wasn't about to play her out with the beautiful skinny girls in town. She snapped back to him and waited.
He cleared his throat and stirred his paint absently as he said, "A cup of coffee would be nice. And an apple maybe."
She placed her hand on her hip and shifted her weight to her right leg as she said, "Brian, you work on my house whenever you have time to spare. I'm not going to give you something to nibble on. I'll have breakfast ready in a bit."
He nodded and smiled nervously. He waited for her to leave the door before he went back to the rail. Smooth Brian. Real smooth. She probably gone end up thinking you're some crushing teen or some shit. For fuck's sake you're a marine and a cowboy! Straighten up!
"Brian!" Genisis called.
He didn't realize time was floating by as he stood chastising himself. He walked in to see Genisis sitting a plate in front of his stool as the coffee pot beeped. He sat down as Taylar sat at the table digging into her waffles.
"Looks good." he complimented.
"It is good Brian." Taylar confirmed.
He smiled at Taylar. She finally got his name right. He picked up his fork as Genisis played with her food. After a silent prayer he dug in. It was heavenly. But then so was all Genisis cooking. She fed him every day that he was here working on her place. And it always tasted great.
Genisis toyed with her eggs as she said, "Um. The doorknob to my side patio door fell off."
He looked to Genisis and nodded.
"I'll fix it as soon as I'm done with the porch," he said after swallowing a bite of food. "And this food is amazing by the way."
She smiled. He always complimented her cooking. Even her turkey lasagna. Which he just knew he'd hate. She looked over his chest and biceps before coming to rest on his beautiful lips. They weren't the stereotypical thin white person's lips. But they weren't huge either. They were... Perfect. She noticed he was smiling and cleared her throat, looking away. He's way outta your league, Gen. If not for his looks, then at least for his age.
