Chapter 23

The next day Genisis stood on the patio looking out at Taylar riding Whippet around barrels and up to the willow at the top of the hill then back again. She had become quite the rider. She learned a lot faster than Genisis had. But Brian worked with her to make her that way. They sometimes worked on a particular skill from sun up till dinner time. Now you couldn't tell her from a born and bred cowgirl. She could even lasso a calf and help with herding.

"She looks so happy," a deep voice said next to her.

She jumped slightly and looked to see her father. She smiled and he put his arm around her shoulders as they stood watching. Taylar leaned down and stroked Whippet's neck as she spoke to him. The horse got a determined look about him and they charged up the hill, came barreling back down then jumped clean over the line of four-wheelers the ranch workers used to round up the horses when they'd been set out in the hills to graze.

"That's my girl," another man cheered. But Genisis knew who it was. Brian came out of the stables with one of his favorite phillies, Raven. She was a beautiful reddish brown color and her mane was slightly wavy and so was her tail. She had been pretty much wild when they found her a few weeks after Genisis got here. But just like she eventually would tame Brian, Genisis had worked hard and sometimes overnight to gain trust from Raven.

She was actually Brian's favorite because he worked on her with his precious Genisis. She was like their baby in way. He walked over to Taylar and said something to her. She nodded and he mounted Raven before taking off into the hills with Taylar.

Jamie stepped out of the house and yawned before saying, "Okay. Let's get this wedding planning started."

***later that afternoon***

Genisis lay in bed exhausted after a day trying to plan HER wedding with a very stubborn Jamie. Jamie wanted everything she liked. Even if it wasn't what Genisis wanted.

Genisis sat up as her bedroom door creaked open. She prepared to tell Jamie to fuck off but relaxed when Brian stepped in.

"Long day," he asked. She nodded.

"Come make me forget it," she purred. "We need to be working on baby number two anyway. Screw this wedding."

He laughed and walked over to her. He kissed her cheek as he whispered, "What about your family?"

She ripped his button down shirt open and pulled her shirt over her head as she said, "I don't really care."

He climbed between her legs and kissed along her neck and jawline before bringing his lips crashing into hers. Just as he placed his hand on her breast Jamie rushed in saying, "Gen, there's-"

Her voice caught in throat. Genisis groaned loudly as Brian eased off of her. "Ride em Cowboy," Jamie sang as she blatantly gawked at his buff body.

Genisis stood as she said, "I know you don't know this seeing as you've never lived in the country. But common courtesy here says if it's not your home then you knock before entering a room. And stop staring at him. He's mine."

Jamie smirked and headed out as she said, "Way to go, Gen! Oh. By the way. A man named Roman's here and Daddy says come here before he let's your brother kill him."

Brian left off his shirt and walked out ahead of them. "Honey," Genisis called as she rushed to put her shirt on and follow him. She glared at Jamie and rushed down the stairs after Brian.

"Aww hell," James said seeing Brian stomping down the stairs.

Brian stepped onto the porch and hollered, "YOU GOT SOME GOT DAMN NERVE!!!"
