Chapter 13

It had been a few months since Brian's intervention on Genisis. She now walked with him every day except Sunday. That was her rest day. He had no rest day. Marines. She was due to have Sitra over today. With all the business her shop was getting and setting up her home, Sitra had been missing in action for all this time.

"Hey girl!" Sitra called.

Genisis smiled as her loud mouth friend entered the front door. She looked over her shoulder.

"Hey Sitty," she called back. "Have I got news for you."

"Spill the tea!" Sitra said excitedly.

Sitra sat at the bar and plucked a grape out of Genisis's bowl.

*** thirty minutes later ***

Sitra sat with her mouth hanging open. Genisis smirked and popped a grape her way. It bounced off her bottom lip, causing Sitra to burst out laughing.

"So you finally let your little boy toy tap that!" Sitra teased.

Genisis rolled her eyes. Out of all she'd told her about him helping her embrace her beauty and walking with her daily and teaching Taylar to ride and getting Baby in farm dog shape, all Sitra heard was that they'd had sex. Typical.

"First off, he's not my boy toy," she corrected. "He's my man. Secondly, is that all you heard?"

Sitra held up her hands in surrender and placed them back on the counter as she said, "Excuse me. Your man. I thought he was too young. That's what you kept throwing up as an excuse. But to answer your question, no that's not all I heard. I've told you the boy was a good guy. I'm shocked you're just now seeing it. So when does Mr. Man get to be a permanent fixture here at Château Gen?"

"He pretty much is," Genisis admitted. "He's always here. Mostly because we walk every morning. But the only time he's not here is when he's working on his ranch, working with Taylar or working out Marine style."

"Working with Taylar on what?" Sitra quizzed.

Genisis smiled proudly as she said, "He's teaching her how to take care of Whippet herself. He's turning my baby into a damn cowgirl. All she talks about is Whippet and some pig he's got her raising."

Sitra laughed at the thought of little Taylar, who cried over grape juice on her birthday dress, out taking care of a darn pig.

"Well you're the one hooking up with a cowboy." she explained.

The door shut stopping their laughing.

"That's Mr. Cowboy to you two." Brian called.

Genisis smiled at Brian as he unleashed Baby.

He walked over and kissed Genisis lips before fetching a bottle of water from the fridge. Sitra watched as he sat on the counter drinking away. She glanced down at Baby lapping at his water bowl like his life depended on him getting every drop. Brian was whipping everyone into shape. She looked to Genisis who was staring at Brian. She was even smaller.

"Where is my child?" Genisis asked, faking an attitude.

Brian smiled and nodded toward the window. Just outside was Taylar brushing down a cream colored horse. Genisis smiled as she walked over to him. He looked down at her and kissed her lips. Sitra cleared her throat and asked, "So what have you been doing to my girl? She got her thighs all out, her cleavage all out. Walking around here like she finna go pull a Ms. Parker out in the garden."

Genisis laughed causing Sitra to burst out laughing. Brian smiled as he embraced Genisis.

"I just been being her man," he stated proudly. "She started all this changing herself."

Genisis looked at him like he was a big liar as she said, "Now you know you ripped up all my covered clothes except my horse riding pants."

He and Sitra laughed then. She looked between them angrily. She tossed a grape at Sitra hitting her in the forehead.

"Oh shut up." Genisis said with attitude.

Taylar ran in the door and over to Brian. He lifted her onto the counter and she moved in close to him.

"Who is this, Gen?" a familiar voice called.

They looked over to the voice at the door. There stood Roman. How the fuck did he know where she lived? Brian tensed behind her as he stared the slightly older man down.

"I'm Brian. Her boyfriend." Brian said matter-of-factly.

Roman's eyes blazed. Genisis felt Brian about to stand. She turned to him and kissed his lips lightly.

"Relax," she said softly. "Roman, let's talk. Outside."

Roman walked out and she left with him. Sitra, Brian and Taylar watched from the window. They looked like they were arguing. Roman started to raise his voice as he hollered, "A fucking kid Gen?! He's more like a fucking kid brother!"

Genisis hauled off and slapped him.

"He's whatever the fuck I want him to be," she spat. "We're both consenting adults! Sounds like you're a little jealous to me!"

He grabbed her and pulled her to him. He pressed his lips to hers. Brian exploded from the house and pulled Roman away. He began punching him repeatedly. Roman threw his own punches but he was soon over powered. Genisis grabbed on to Brian's shorts and pulled as hard as she could. He didn't budge. She called out for Sitra.

Taylar and Sitra rushed out on the porch.

"No Brian!" Taylar screamed.

Brian froze at the sound of Taylar's fearful voice. He rose off of Roman and turned to her. She ran to him and hugged his waist.

"Please don't fight anymore." she whispered slightly.

He picked her up and kissed her head. She rested her head on his shoulder. Genisis helped Roman to his feet. He was hurt. She could tell. She showed him inside and handed him a wet rag and ice pack. Brian stood watching in the front door. He suddenly put Taylar down and hopped on Whippet, taking off toward his home.

"BRIAN!!!!" Taylar hollered after him.

Genisis snapped her eyes in the direction of the door to see Taylar looking out with tears in her eyes. She looked to the window. A cloud of dust led up the road and Whippet was gone. So was Brian.
