Chapter 22: He's forever a part of me
(A/N: Sorry for interrupting your reading but there's another important author's note at the end, so please read it! Thanks!)
"The best thing about pictures is that it never changes, even when the people in it do"

I was running around a field as the wind blew my hair away from my face. I was laughing uncontrollably as Gavin chased me. I was somehow ahead of him and I didn't even know how I've managed to do that.
"You're so slow!" I shouted looking behind my shoulder as Gavin continued to run. He was also running and it showed those damn dimples that I love so much.
"You just started before me! Unfair!" he whined and as I chuckled.
I've been running for some minutes now and my legs are tired, the field was so big that you'd never lack space to run around in. I've already been everywhere and still, Gavin haven't caught me.
My pace was slowing down "Okay, Gavin! You win! I'm tired" I said and I fully come to a stop
He chuckled and jogged towards me "Aw, you want to go back inside now?" he asked gesturing to the house that we now live in. Yes, we're adults now but you can't have too much fun. Twenty four year olds can still run, you know.
"I'd like that" I said as I walked towards it but I was quickly lifted bridal style. I shrieked "What the hell?" I punched Gavin's arm playfully.
"You're my princess and I'll make you feel it" he said and I could feel my cheeks heat up. I can't see it but I'm sure my face is crimson red right now.
We were walking towards the house now, the sun was shining bright and the birds chirped while also chasing each other and I just listened as Gavin's arms carry me.
Suddenly, Gavin stopped and dropped me as I landed with a loud thump.
"What the hell?" I groaned as I rubbed my back that hit the ground.
He looked at my guiltily "I'm sorry, Savannah" then he started walking back disappearing to the darkness. The sun was not visible anymore and pure emptiness filled it instead. He became smaller and smaller until he vanished.
I kept shouting at him "Gavin! Where are you going?" I stood up and ran after him but he's still nowhere to be found. I looked around but all I see is black. It's like I was running in pure darkness and I don't even know where I am. I kept running, I don't know where I'll end up but I still kept running. A voice called me and I turned to the direction where it came from. I saw Gavin there, with his bags while holding a plane ticket, he was floating in mid air as I stared at him with amusement.
"G-Gavin? A-Are you leaving m-me?" I managed to ask as the tears started to form
He went down to where I stood and kissed me lightly on the forehead. He rested his forehead on mine and we stayed like that looking into each other's eyes. He used his thumb to wipe away the tears rolling down my cheeks "I love you, Savannah" And just like that, he was gone.
Gone.
I woke up with beads of sweat on my arms and body, but then I pair of eyes watched me as I panicked.
"What are you looking at?" I asked to Gavin as he smirked and chuckled at me. I know I look like a mess but you don't have to rub it on my face.
"You look so cute" he said as he rested his head on his hands under my pillow. Then I realized, we slept in the same bed, again. It's not like the first time it happened but this time, it felt more special.
