"Honey I'm home!" My mom says singing with a high pitched voice.

I chuckle and give my mom and dad a hug. It's been like, what, 3 months since I've seen them? Working in business really is tough and busy. "Welcome back! How was work?"

My mom grunted. She never really did like work. I guess that's where I got it from, "exhausting, higher up people are so ignorant I swear. I'm so close to kicking Sean where the sun doesn't shine if he rejects my proposal one more time. Honestly, sorry if I'm happily married with a beautiful daughter and reject his offer in having an intimate affair. The asshole." In aggravation she throws her suitcase down on the carpet. I wrinkled my nose in disgust.

My dad made an unpleasant face at the topic of Sean. Apparently he's been a prick to dads side for a while now. He even hits on my mom during work which obviously doesn't make dad happy at all.

"don't worry honey, I'll give him double the workload" dad says with a grin as he grabs a cup of coffee and kisses my mom on the forehead.

I stare at my parents lovingly as they get themselves settled from their business trip. Some families would drift apart if they had the circumstances we had, but that isnt the case for us. Mom and dad are still in love with each other as when they first met. Well, at least that's what dad says. As for me, I matured pretty early so I understand their jobs can be really busy, and it's not like they've ever forgotten about me either. They always message me whenever they can and send their love.  My parents work in the same company, well, more like our company. My dad isn't the current owner right now, it's my uncle, but my dad does have a high ranking position. My moms position isn't bad either, but she wanted to earn her spot instead of getting it just cause she's the boss's brother's wife.

"Hey Amber, mind if we talk to you about something" my mom says from the living room. I got myself a glass of water and went to the room where I see my parents sitting on the couch with a somewhat serious expression. I went to a chair nearby and slowly sat down nervously, "is something wrong? Did something happen to Uncle Tom? Whatever you think I did I didn't do it."

"No sweetie" my dad says chuckling while he holds on to my moms shoulders, "me and your mother have been thinking about something and well, we've decided to let you go to school for your senior year."

I looked at them with a mixture of shock and fear. Are they going to make me go to school here? I tried that once, and well, let's just say the day ended with me hyperventilating in the girls bathroom. I began to look at my parents with visible tears appearing on my eyes "w-what?" I say shakily.

My parents looked at me confusingly until my mom had a sudden realization "no no Amber, it's not what you think. We'd never suggest such a thing given how things went last time." My mom hesitantly looks at my dad as he gives her a reassuring smile.

I'm so confused I thought. What does she mean it's not what I think? What else could it be?

She looks at my with a reassuring smile "let me rephrase what your father said. We're letting you go to school with your friends in California for your senior year. The only thing is is that you'll be living in an apartment instead of the dorms since they're full. I hope that's okay with you."

I stared at them in shock again, only this time the fear was gone and was replaced with a mixture of disbelief and pure joy

"I- I can't believe this. Are you both sure? I mean, we barely see each other already. Isn't that why we left in the first place? And what about" I paused for a second "my health?"

My dad gave me a sympathetic smile and held my hand "sweetie, you've spent almost your whole teenage life in this house. Me and you mom aren't about to let you miss your senior year . And about your health, we know being with those 5 will keep your safe. It's true we barely see each other, but you haven't seen them even more. We'll even visit you so don't worry about us, it's time to worry about you now." He takes a quick sip of coffee "plus I'm kind tired of getting emails from Macy about how much she misses you and would offer however many dollars to adopt you"

The tears I had held started to stream down my face as my parents look happily at me. I feel truly blessed.

"So when do I go? Should I pack now or do I have time?"

"You should probably start packing now. School starts in August which is in a little more than a week away, and don't even worry about the supplies and such. We've got it all covered with the furniture for your apartment. Now get your perfect butt that you've inherited from me and get yourself up to your room and scream about this to your friends." My mom says trying to act all stern.

I chuckle and head straight upstairs "yes ma'am!"

When I reached my room I quickly closed my door and went straight to my laptop to face time Macy. Its Thursday so she doesn't have a date with Devan and should be free.

"Hey Re-, what happened!?!" Macy says angrily looking at my tear streamed face "I swear when I find the person who made you cry-"

I chuckled and wiped the remnants of my tears off  "calm down Macy. Don't worry, these are happy tears. I have something to tell you." I wait for a second, "my parents are letting me go back to California so I can spend senior year with you guys!"

She gasps. "What!?! Shut the front door. Really?"

Nodding we both looked at each other with tears in our eyes as we try to comprehend the news that was recently brought to our attention. "I can't believe this. I truly can't." She says breaking the silence. "So I'm guessing you won't be in the dorms since we're already full right?"

"Yeah" I sighed as I looked out my window "my parents said they've got my apartment and school stuff ready. I just need to pack. Oh! And I've gotta tell the guys"

As I was about to message the guys that we needed to talk but Macy quickly stopped me.

"Wait, not just yet!"

I frowned. "Macy, you know how mad they'll be if I tell them last minute"

She looked nervous but at the same time she sorta had this mischievous glint in her eyes. "Let's keep it a surprise! Don't worry about them, I've got it all planned out"

I looked at her confused but quickly shrugged it off. I've gotta focus on what's going on right now. I'm not even worried about my social anxiety problem. I know I won't have that problem with them around. "Okay, but I gotta think about what to pack so I'll talk to you later." We both waved bye at each other and hanged up.

This is actually happening
