#32 THE FINAL EMBRACE

She started to speak like a kid in the midst of her cry, "Adrian please forgive me. Why aren't you answering me? I begged my father to not to leave London. But I was helpless at that time. I begged my father each and every day to take me back to London but he promised me to do so but he kept on postponing his promise.

He left to France leaving me alone. I cried not because I missed my father but you. I missed you. I missed you more than my father and mother. I begged my uncle to send me back to London. I lied using the name of my mother, since I felt that you are important to me than anything.

When I came here I searched for you with the help of Clamence in each and every street. I kept on waiting for you in front of your home. When Clamence forced me to return back to Norfolk, I left my home and I stayed with the sick people at St. Paul's cathedral for the past two days.

When Clamence found me at the church tonight I refused to go back with her. And a doctor named Jerome at St. Paul's church told me that you are at your home.

Clamence promised the doctor that she would be taking me here tomorrow but I know she won't do so. I compelled her and she got angry on me.

Clamence left me here and went away. I swear that I'm true to you. I never wanted to leave you. Still I love you Adrian." saying she sobbed heavily.

Adrian cried bitterly. He felt that revealing the reason beyond his ignorance towards her might hurt her even badly.

Joan felt hurt when she realized that Adrian haven't replied anything even after knowing her pain.

She stood up with the support of the piano.

She sat on the Piano bench and she started to play the song which was composed by Adrian and it was the song which Joan found difficult to learn.

Joan played the notes of the song without any mistake and she started to sing the lyrics which she had written to express her love for him.

Adrian who was leaning on his bed because of his terrible sickness kept listening to the song.

His heart wondered when he saw Joan playing the notes without any mistake.

And her feelings on him flooded through the song which made his heart to tremble with emotions and it seemed that his heart was about to burst in pain.

Tears started to rolled from his eyes.

But when she finished singing the song, his feelings rushed in the form of words and he said, "I love you so much Joan."

At once Joan sensed his direction and she started to walk towards him.

Adrian (in his heart), "What have I done?"

and he told, "Joan go away from me you should not come near me."

Joan asked while walking towards him, "Why? Why should I go away from you?"
