#19 THE SUFFERING SOUL

Cyrus has been sleeping in his room at one of the naval ship after celebrating the victory of Menidia against the pirates.

# THE DREAM OF CYRUS

Cyrus saw himself standing on a top of a mountain.

As he was surrounded by heavy fog he was unable to see anything around him.

But at once when the fog was lifted away by a strong wind, he saw Amitis at the other side.

He saw her face which was gleaming with lots of happiness and it seemed that she was about to run to him.

Cyrus felt his jumping heart and when he was about to run towards her, he saw a soldier rushing between them and stabbing Amitis to death.

Cyrus screamed but he was unable to help Amitis.

He felt something which has been holding him back.

He tried his best to get near her; he saw her calling out his name in fear.

At once Cyrus woke up and he felt extremely disturbed.

He woke up and went outside the room. On seeing Cyrus the 'on duty' soldiers of his ship who were tired because of the victory celebrations which they enjoyed the night before, became alert to do their duty.

Cyrus walked to the upper deck at the back side of the ship.

He tried to calm himself by remembering the moments of victory celebrations at the night before.

He remembered the teasing of Smerdis and Cassander calling Cyrus as the Brother in law of Artunis and Arses.

He remembered the moments which he had food and wine with Artunis, Arses, Smerdis and Cassander at the celebration which took place at the night before.

And those memories of his friends made him to feel better.

Cyrus started to look at his naval ships, since all the ships of his Navy were anchored around his ship.

At once Cyrus found a soldier at the back upper deck of the neighboring naval ship where Artunis has been staying, which was anchored so close beside his ship.

Cyrus noticed a messenger eagle in the hand of that particular soldier.

At once Cyrus ordered his soldiers to kill the Messenger eagle and to get that soldier to him.

The soldiers rushed to the neighboring ship with the help of the sail ropes. And their arrows separated the eagle's head from its body.

On seeing the dead eagle the soldier tried to escape in to the waters but the soldiers of Cyrus caught him and they brought him in front of Cyrus.

Cyrus was shocked when he saw the face of the soldier, he realized that it was the soldier whom he has been searching since spring festival.
