I stood at the maze doors waiting for Minho. I've been waiting for an hour. I should just go. I listened to my conscience and ran in.

The course from the week before had changed, but I made my way through still. Remembering every turn and obstacle. Even taking out a knife and scratching a few vines here and there. I would run for and hour, rest for 15 minutes, and then run for another hour. That allowed my leg to heal.

" Mmmh" The moaning began again. Instantly i quickened my pace and ran to the sound.

This time a Griever laid injured on the ground. What look like the same girl, was helping it's wound. Her outfit and hair the same, but this time she no longer had the ragg I put on her hand.

"Hello? Are you the girl I saw the other day?" She turned around to my voice and stood up. Her height was around 5' 2" just a little bit shorter than me.

"You're the girl who helped my hand. Sorry about James, he gets overprotective at times and will attack. I hope he did not injure you that badly." She had a soft, calm voice.

The Griever has a name and she is friends with it? That's more than odd.

I looked down at my leg. "Yeah, he didn't hurt me that badly. So, what's your name and why are you friends with Grievers?"

She sighed. "Let's go slowly. My name first and next time I will give you more information. My name is Rosemary, but you can call me Rose for short. Now, what's your name?" Rosemary, nice name.

"My name is Jay. What do you mean next time?" The Griever made it's way up and Rose jumped on it again.

"Meet me at the far end of the maze. I will meet you there and take you to my family. Let you meet them, so you can understand me better. I have to leave now, so see you then." Her and the Griever ran off. My first instinct was to follow.

She went a route I had no idea existed. I continuously followed. Finally we arrived at an area I had no idea existed, and had no idea how to get out. The sun was getting low and I knew I was not going to make it home i time.

"Rose, I don't know how to get home. Plus, where are we?" She jumped off the Griever and walked towards me.

"You are really persistent, mate." I had just noticed she had an Australian accent. "Here follow me, we will take you back in the morning." She walked into and odd concrete cave with the Griever. "Come on, no need to be afraid." i did as commanded and walked in.

It was a nice little home. Grievers laid down the caverns and just stared as we walked to her hut. James, the Griever, walked into an empty cavern and laid down.

Once we were in Rose's hut I asked her what was this all.

"My home. I woke up in here one day with a tattoo on my neck of a 'G'. When I encountered a Griever, it listened to me instantly. Later on my memories started to come back and I found out what I was. My name is Rosemary Pines. I am the daughter of a W.C.K.D. scientist named Liam Pines. He created me to control the Grievers, but was put in here instead. My only family is the Grievers." She poured two glasses of water and gave me one.

"How do you get supplies, and why did you not want to come out to the Glade?" I asked this while taking a drink of water.

"I dont know, just been afraid I guess. That Minho kid seems a bit scary." She sat across from me, "but you need to rest. Your leg is hurt and you have a big run tomorrow." I nodded my head 'yes' in agreement. She led me to an empty bed and told me to rest and that none of the Grievers will bother me.

I layed down, closed my eyes, and fell instantly asleep.

Newt's POV

"Where is Jay?" I ran up to Minho who was just coming out from the Maze. Minho and Thomas panted and came to a stop. The doors were just beginning to close.

"I don't know. She did not show up this morning, so I just supposed that she changed her mind. Thomas did you see anything?" Minho crouch down and then straight upward.

"No, nothing out of the ordinary. Jay is probably wandering in the Deadheads somewhere." Thomas was odd. He would usually be panicking, but he looked calm. Almost as if he did not worry about Jay at all.

"I checked. I checked every bloody place in this Glade, but not the Maze. My only hypothesis is that she is still in the Maze. I saw her go in early this morning, around 15 minutes before you two did." The doors closed. That's when I finally came to realization that she was stuck in there. Jay was in the Maze all alone at night.

"Newt, she is a tough girl, she will be Good that." Minho put his hand on my shoulder. Out of anger I punched Minho in the jaw.

"Newt!" Tommy looked shocked at me.

"You are the one who gave her false hope. You should have told her not to go." Tears began to form in my eyes.

"Newt, we all know she would have went if we said yes or no. Jay is a determined person." Tommy looked down and walked off. What's the matter with him? He was acting very odd.

Night fell and I still watched the walls. Hoping that they would open and Jay would be there alive waiting for us to get her. What if she has already lost hope? Or a Griever already got her and she is either stun or worse, dead?

I stopped myself from thinking of that because it just made me more worried. We sat around the table eating, no one spoke. Tommy sat looking at the Maze doors once in awhile and the rest of the time picking at his food.

Minho ate his food in silence and would look annoyed at us once in awhile. Chuck was just involved with his food, but had a sad frown on his face.

"Tommy, what is the matter with you? Ever since you came back from getting clothes for Jay, you have been acting like a real slinthead." Tommy looked up at my remark.

"Slinthead?" He chuckled, "I am the slinthead. Have you seen yourself?"

"I am protecting my sister, what is your excuse?" Minho and Chuck both looked up and we had not noticed that we were yelling. Before you know it, all of the Gladers were watching and listening.

"Why would Jay want my help? He has you her brother. Plus, all I am is a problem to her." Tommy looked sad and mad at the same time.

"You are not a problem to her, you are just her friend. Tommy, yes I am her brother, but at one point she is going to grow up and leave. They always do." Both of us were standing up yelling.

Gally walked up and pushed me on the ground. "When were you shanks going to tell us that you are siblings. I did not think keeping secrets from each other was in the rules. Part of our trust!" Gally stood above me. When I tried to get up, Gally just continued to push me down and hit me. Finally Alby and Minho stopped him.

"This is not how we act here. I told Newt not to tell anyone for Jay's protection, for this exact reason. Don't think about hitting Newt again." Alby pushed Gally aside. Tommy and him helped me up.

"Slinthead." I spit out some blood and tried bending my badly hurt leg.

"What did you call me!?" Gally lunged towards me but Minho caught him.

"Put that Shank in the Slammer." Alby walked with Minho and helped him with the struggling Gally.

I flung out of Tommy's grasp and walked to my bed. Now all the Gladers new Jay was my sister and she was probably in some danger. Gally already tried to hit on her, but now he probably could hurt her to get to me; or visa versa.

The hammock flipped and then I layed down. The empty bed next to me almost made me cry. I can't loose Jay. I really hoped she would be alright. With her in my mind, I dose off to sleep.
