Chapter 13

Newt stood in front of our cell. The Glade was in pieces, and I could get out if I wanted to. The cell doors were easier to break than Gally's head, but it was interesting how the Gladers think we could not get out.

"Hey, Teresa, is Thomas awake?" I was in a separate cell from the two of them.

"He is now." Newt's voice. Teresa refused to speak to me, ever since she had seen Thomas and I kiss again.

After the Grievers attacked. Rose was banished, the Glade was split apart into two groups. Thomas and Gally. I wanted to go to Thomas, but Gally threatened me. So, instead I caused a huge accident and they put me in one of the Slammers.

Gally said that he still had Newt on a thread and if I did one thing against him, he would make sure that he will put Newt out of his leg misery for good.

"Come on, get them out of there!" Gally walked up. Two boys grabbed Teresa and Thomas. Newt helped me out personally.

"Did you hear the plan?" Newt walked close to me.

"Yes, Rose knows because I told her a similar one before she was banished." Newt looked down. "Hey, we will see her again. I promise. Plus, the moment I step into the Maze, Thraz finds me in the matter of seconds. Rose is connected to him, so she can follow him." I gave my brother a comforting smile, but he did none in return.

"Fine, I trust you on that. Just, stay close to us when we are running." Newt held his hand around my waist.

"Yeah, but you too. Remember, I am not the only one in this family with a limp on their leg." Both of us chuckled a bit, but continued to walk.

Teresa put up a good show, and Thomas stayed playing unconscious. Chuck was in the corner with things packed and Minho stood on the other side with weapons.

Newt and I stood behind Gally. Newt with a stick/spear, and I had a knife/sword. Gally did his whole speech and finally Thomas woke up and attacked the guy next to him. We all attacked.

I wanted to get Gally, but Newt shook his head no. We stood watching them. Their whole conversation went back and forth, but all I could keep my mind on was the Griever stench I could smell around the corner.

Finally Thomas turned around and we began to run in. The way to the door was long and treacherous. Eventually we ran into Rose.

"Rose!"

"Newt!" Both of them ran up to each other and gave one another huge hugs.

"You're coming with us, right?" Newt smiled down at her.

"Of course. Why would I want to leave you?" I found their relationship sweet.

"Come On!" Minho yelled this and we all began to run again.

Eventually we arrived at the door. No Grievers attacked, but that could also be because of Rose. We started to run to the door until Rose and I just stopped.

"What happened? Come On!" Newt yelled this.

"I-I don't know. Both Rose and I stopped. We can't move!" I was in panic. My entire time I wanted to meet our partners, and I am stuck.

Suddenly Rose collapsed. Newt ran up to her and checked her pulse, but the moment he touched her tones of Grievers attacked us. Ever Glader with us attacked back. Not to long after I collapsed and everything went black.
