Chapter 12

Jay's POV

Newt held my hand and smiled. "Hey, look who's finally awoken." I smiled at him. My body ached, but the excruciating pain was gone.

"How long have I been asleep?" The windows were opened and today we had a nice cool breeze.

"For a month. Jeff was going to wake you up after the first week, but you still were not fully healed. It is going to be hard to walk." ONE MONTH!! I was asleep for an entire month. That means that another person has come to the Glade.

I tried sitting up, and surprisingly it was successful. "Why don't I feel any pain?" I took off the blanket and touched the wound.

"Because you are healed. W.C.K.D. sent up some medicine for you. We used it and it was successful. The only thing was that we did not know if you were going to wake up or not." Newt leaned back and folded his arms. He looked tired and dehydrated.

"Can I get up and walk around?" I did find it a bit weird that I had to ask him for permission, but he was my older brother.

"Yeah, let me get you some clothes." He smiled, got up, and walked out of the room. I moved my body out and got up. My legs were still stiff, but I managed to walk around a bit.

"Hey, look at you, all up and awake." Thomas stood at the doorway. I was so happy to see him. I ran over and gave him a hug. "What was that about?"

"I am just so glad to see you. I've missed him." Seeing him now, I knew right away that I liked him. I went on my tippy toes and kissed him on the cheek. "Did you miss me?"

He looked at me in shock and then smiled. Thomas put his arm around my waist and pulled me in. He reached down and kissed me on the lips. I did not know exactly what to do. Thomas had shocked me, but I was tempted to close my eyes. I even kissed him back.

"What the bloody hell is going on here?" Thomas ended our kiss and we looked to our left. Newt, Minho, and Chuck stood at the door way. I looked down and bit my lip.

"Uh," Was the only thing Thomas said. Chuck smiled and Minho smirked. Newt, on the other hand, did not smile nor frown. He had a straight face.

"Don't say nothing, because that is nothing. Tommy you were kissing Jay!" Thomas got out of my grasp a bit and we both stood in one place.

"Yeah, is that a problem, Newt? I like Thomas. There I finally said it. Plus, I was kissing him back." Chuck smiled at what I said, and Thomas seemed to have a small smile on his face also.

"I knew it! Finally, I'm so glad you both acknowledge it." Chuck let out this outburst while jumping in his spot.

"Gotta agree with Chuck. It has been a long time, and we have been waiting. Congratulations. Also, you Shanks look good together." Minho smiled and folded his arms.

"Thanks, Minho." Thomas said this, but I don't think he noticed, because he was in a small bit of shock after saying it.

"You two are together? Without my opinion? I am your older brother after all." Newt look hurt.

"I am sorry Newt, please don't be mad." I walked closer to my brother.

"I am not mad; I am just disappointed. That is all." He sighed and looked at me in disappointment. "Tommy, you are not allowed to date Jay, until I say so."

"But Newt!"

"No, 'buts' Jay. He has to win my approval to date you. Overall I am your older brother and the only male in your family right now. If Dad were here, he would probably do the same thing, and Noah would agree." Newt, remembered my best friend. Noah was a girl I knew. She was named after a boy because her parents thought that she was going to be a boy, until she was born. I had bits and pieces of memories of her, but I was shocked that Newt remembered her.
