My Cinderella Story

Chapter 2

I got ready to go out to town. I straightened my brown hair that went down past my shoulders. I put on my favorite skinny jeans and a plain white t-shirt. I tied my black converse in a double knot and grabbed my skateboard and backpack. My skateboard had different stickers and duck tape on the bottom with bright green wheels. It was pretty sick!

The bus driver doesn't charge me for bus rides anymore because he know Laverna, my stepmother always takes my money. I sit in the back with my headphones for the long bus ride. We picked up a few people and then we get to town. I say bye to Bill, the bus driver and skate to the coffee shop. I walk in and the little bell rings indicating a customer has walked in. I sit at the bar and My best guy friend Jace give me my favorite coffee. Jace had short brown hair with brown eyes. He was tall. not insanely tall but tall. The shop is really cute! It has light green walls with dark brown wood counters and tables. There were windows that lined the front of the store.

"How are Laverna and her minions?" He askes leaning on the counter.

"Evil as always. I get to escape for grocery shopping." I say sipping my coffee.

"I get off in a few minutes. I can come if you want?" He askes making himself a coffee.

"I would be honored." I say bowing my head sarcastically.

Once Jace got off work we walked down to the grocery store. We picked up the stuff for salad and then a roast. I paid for the food and started back towards the bus stop. Jace helped me get the food in my backpack before I got on the bus.

"Call me if Laverna gets to evil." Jace whispered in my ear as he gave me a goodbye hug.

When I got home I immediately went to the kitchen. I put the roast in the crock pot and started cutting the ingredients for the salad. I was listening to the news through my iPod an headphones. There was so much going on it was insane. I finished preparing the food and set the table for three people. When that was done I arranged the food on the table and rang the bell for dinner. Once everyone was happy I went and ate my dinner in my room.

I logged on to Skype to see that Cori and Jace were online. I immediately started a group chat.

M: Ok Laverna is evil!

J: Your just figuring that out?

M: Give me a break! No seriously I need one!

C: Wish I could have you both here! My family is so boring!

M: Cori you will be home soon! Then we can all hang out together!

J: Are you guys going to the Summer Fest?

C: Heck ya! The dance at the end is my favorite! Everyone gets dressed up and just has fun!

J: Mer?

M: If I can escape that night I would love to.

C: Ok I have to go! Ttyl!

J: Same here bye guys! Mer feel free to come by the shop tomorrow.

M: I might just take you up on that!

After I logged off I turned off my computer and got ready for bed. I put my brown hair up in a ponytail. I slipped my long brown sweatpants on and a navy tank top. After that I took out a box that I kept under my bed. I took the lid off and just stared at the box. I started looking at the pictures inside. I look at my father carrying me on his shoulders. I missed my dad. I took an hour and looked at everything. I placed everything back in the box and placed the lid on top. After I slid it under my bed I turned off the lamp and went to sleep.
