Chapter 24

Rocky's POV|

"Hey is Riker here?" I ask Courtney aka my new girlfriend.

"No I thought he was with you guys." Courtney says taking her earbuds out.

"Have you guys seen Merideth?" Rydel says walking in.

"Nope." I say.

"Okay so we have a problem. Nobody knows where Riker or Merideth are!" Courtney says almost screaming.

"Wait didn't Riker say he was going to teach Merideth how to ski today?" Rydel reminded us.

"Ok is everyone in the cabin?" Mom says walking in the cabin covered in snow.

"Mom we don't know where Riker or Mer are." I say looking down. I immediately saw all the color drain from her face.

"I will call the park officials but I don't want anyone else leaving." Mom said. "Rydel call the rest if the family and tell them to come home."

I walked over to the window hoping to see my brother walk over the hill.

Courtney's POV|

I have never seen Rocky so worried. He has been standing by the window for an hour. Everyone is home now except Riker and Merideth.

|Texts sent to Merideth|

"Where are you?"

"Come home Mer."

"Give us a sign your ok!"

I sent that last message before Stormie came running in the main area.

"The officials found them! They are coming to get me and dad you kids stay here." She said getting her coat and boots on.

"Where are they?" Rocky said turning his attention away from the window.

"With a resident that lives on the property. He built his home here before the ski hill opened. He has a criminal record. He is a killer." Stormie finished.

"I'm coming." Rocky said.

"Rocky stay here with Courtney. She will be the best thing right now." Stormie said snatching the coat out of Rocky's hand.

With that the officials knocked on the door and escorted the Lynch parents out of the cabin. All of the kids sat in the living room waiting for our family to come back through that door.
