My Cinderella Story

Chapter 3

I woke up to the most annoying beeping ever. I turned off my clock and got dressed for the day. I put my hair in a ponytail and applied eyeliner. Then I put on some shorts and a dark red t-shirt. I went to my closet to pick out some shoes. When I opened the doors I surprised to see Cori in my closet.

"Cori!" I squealed giving her a huge hug.

"Hey you should really organize your closet." She said giggling.

"How did you get in here? Laverna hates when my friends come over." I said sitting on the bed while Cori picked my shoes. She handed me some navy Toms.

"I just snuck in the back. Your family snores like a pig." We both laughed at that! "So today we need to go shopping for dresses for the Summer Fest.

"How do you think I am going to afford a dress? I don't get paid for being these people Cinderella!" I was pretty upset. I wanted to look nice for Summer Fest!

"Don't worry about it! I am going to help you and I know where to start." She said in her devious tone.

"Merideth? Who are you talking to?" I heard Laverna outside my door.

"Hide!" I whispered ushering her back into the closet. "No one!"

"Well good!" She said walking in. Glad Cori was hiding. "We are going to a meet and greet with that band R5 that the twins like. After that we are going to look for dresses for the Summer Fest. I need you to get all of these chores done before we get home." She said handing me a huge list.

"Ok have a good time." I said sarcastically which got me a death glare from Laverna as she left. I felt R5 was a little kid band. They were cute but they needed an edge. The guys in the band were pretty sexy though. The twins were obsessed though. They talked about marrying Riker and Rocky. It will never happen though because the twins are to annoying for anyone.

"Is it safe?" Cori said poking her head out of the closet.

"Yeah it's safe." I said falling back on the bed. "We have to postpone the dress shopping. I just got a nasty list from Laverna. "

"I can help! Then we are going shopping girl!" She said looking at the list. "I will go clean the kitchen and you do the pool." She said running out my bedroom door.

We blasted music as we got the list done! We danced around the house. Cleaning is way more fun when you have a friend with you. We split the list in half. I cleaned the pool and watered all the flowers outside while Cori got all the plants inside. After that we cleaned out the fridge and freezer. I had to mop so Cori sat up on the counter and gave me a concert while I mopped. Then we had to vacuum the entire house. We finally finished and plopped on the couch. We were exhausted but I swear the house sparkled.

"Why do you stay here? You could go anywhere with your academics." Cori said as we sat on the couch.

"I need somewhere that doesn't cost anything. This is why I go to Cali Community College." I said putting my feet on the coffee table.

"Wow we are talking about school in the summer time. That's it we are going shopping." Cori said grabbing her keys and wallet.
