I was wearing red lipstick on the day that you finally decided to kiss me.
I remember because a little bit was left, smeared on the corner of your mouth, when we pulled away. You smiled like you were on top of the world, and I just smiled back up at you. I couldn’t remember the last time I was as happy as I was when I was with you. It was so easy to befriend you, and to talk to you. You became my best friend in two days, easily.
You were my kryptonite.
I got so scared when I started to fall for you because I knew that no matter what, I couldn’t lose you. I also knew though, that nothing I could do would stop me from falling harder. I just wanted you to catch me. It’s all I wanted, actually. Nothing more, and nothing less.
Just you.
Somehow I knew that after that day we weren’t just Beckett and Emery anymore; we were us, together.
And that terrified me.
