We went out in your truck one night--a Friday night. (It’s a surprise you would tell me when I asked where we were going over and over again. You always loved to surprise me, and you were so patient with my constant questions).

I remember that you had on a pair of dark denim jeans and a hoodie from the high school that you graduated from. I had on a dress with a sweater over top of it (it was stupid and I was cold. I had just wanted to look pretty for you--you told me that I was crazy, but your eyes were full of love that warmed my heart).

We drove to the park where we had first met only a few months ago. I smiled as you pulled me close into your side and led me through the park. There was a picnic set up right in the middle of the grass, in front of the lake. I think my grin was probably as big as the moon that night, and I pulled you in for a hug, kissing your cheek lightly. You really did listen to me when I would rant about stupid things.

A picnic under the stars (number 47 on my bucket list).

I am so in love with you Beckett Walker I smiled, as you grabbed my hand and led me to the small blanket.

You lit a candle and turned on the radio. There was some cheesy love song playing, and I laughed out loud because I realized that all of the words made sense now. We ate the food you brought (pizza--it was our favorite), and then we danced under the stars.

Starry eyed.
