I was putting a final touch of lip gloss on my lips. I stepped back to take a good look at myself in the mirror.

I was dressed in dark jeans, a white halter top and a black cardigan. I sat down to slip my feet into a pair of black converse.

I had finally called Jason back earlier in the day and he asked me out on a date... I think.

I grabbed a black purse and threw my phone, keys and some money into it. I grabbed the hair tie that my hair was tied in and pulled it out, letting my long blonde hair fall loosely down my back.

Finally. I was ready.

"Sweetie!" I heard my mom call, "Jason is at the door for you."

I felt my palms getting sweaty. Was am I so nervous all of a sudden?!

I quickly sprayed some perfume onto my neck and wrists and made my way out my room and down the stairs to meet Jason.

Jason was dressed in dark jeans and a light blue dress shirt. He looked incredibly sexy.

"Hey.." I smiled awkwardly.

"Hey." He smiled back, biting down on his lip. I wanted to kiss him right there and then but I had to remember to control myself since my parents were in the same room.

"Jess needs to be home by 11." I hear my father say sternly from behind me.

Ugh he's so embarrassing!

"I got it sir." Jason smiles.

"You two kids have a nice night." My mom smiles, leading us out the door.

The air is still warm outside and the sun is just starting to set.

I follow Jason to his car and he opens the door for me.

I am about to get in when I feel a familiar grip around my wrist. I turn to face Jason and his soft lips crash onto mine.

Our mouths move in sync and I feel his tongue slip into my mouth, this feels so right. We kiss for a few more seconds and then we both pull apart for air.

"I wanted to do that when I first saw you walk down the stairs." He admits. This brings butterflies to my stomach.

"Me too." I whisper.

We both laugh and get into the car.

"Where are you taking me?" I demand. We have been driving in the car for about half an hour and it looks like we are in the middle of nowhere. I look out the window and it is dark outside.

Jason looks over at me and a playful smile appears on his lips but he doesn't say anything, instead he reaches over for the radio and turns it up.

I roll my eyes and hum along with familiar tune.

After 10 minutes I am getting bored again. "Jason?" I cry out.

"Look we're here." Jason laughs, pulling into a parking lot.

I look around and see one single building. It is about one story and it has low dimmed lights around the sides.

"Where are we?" I ask, my eyes never leaving the beautiful building.

"We are at my favourite restaurant." Jason simply replies.

He opens the door, I don't even hear him get out and he comes around to my side opening up the door for me.

He holds out his hand and I take it as he helps me get out of the car.

We walk towards the building which looks awfully quiet.

As we enter I notice that there is only a waiter standing by the door with no one inside the place.

"Is this place closed?"

"No.. No don't worry, Jess. We have this whole place to ourselves tonight." Jason smiles, I notice a cute dimple sticking out of his cheek. He places his hand on my back and leads me to a table right in the middle of the restaurant.

He pulls out the seat for me and I sit down, he sits across from me and the waiter comes over at once holding two glasses and he places them in front of us.

I take a sip and let the cool beverage run down my throat.

I smile at Jason because he is staring intently at me whilst I put the glass down.

"What?" I laugh, is there something on my face? I wonder.

"You're just so cute." He smiles.

I frown because I don't like the idea of being cute. It sounds like I am a little 5 year old girl with pig tails in my hair.

"Did I say something wrong?" Jason notices my frown and I quickly shake my head.

"I was just thinking..." I admit.

"About?"

"Nothing." I quickly cut him off and we sit in silence for a minute.

"So how did you get this place all to yourself?" I start, trying to make conversation.

"My dad knows the owner."

"Oh."

"Excuse me." I hear a deep voice from behind me.

I turn to face the waiter who is holding a tray in his hand.

"Would you like to eat?" He smiles, placing two plates in front of us not really giving us a choice for whether we want to eat or not.

I nod and the waiter places down a plate filled with pasta. Ravioli to be exact.

The smell lingers up my nostrils and I just want to stuff my face with this delicious looking food. I hear my stomach start to grumble and I can feel my cheeks burning up. I look up to see Jason who has a cheeky smirk on his face and I shake my head.

I grab my fork and take the first bite of my dinner... "This. Is. Like. Heaven." I say with each chew.

Jason laughs and takes a bite, "This is my favourite thing here, and their white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake."

My mouth starts to water when I think about cheesecake and now I feel like a pig.

"Don't feel self conscious around me." Jason places his hand over mine from across the table. I guess he senses how embarrassed I feel.

"Thank you." I smile politely, squeezing his thumb with my small hands.

When dinner is finished the waiter comes back to clear our plates.

"Jess?" I hear Jason's sexy voice. I love the way he says my name.

"Yes?" I manage to choke.

"We haven't really spoke about... About us..." Jason finally says. I'm glad that he is the one to bring 'us' up first.

"Is there even an us?" I whisper, I don't want to make eye contact. Afraid he might be regretting this.

"Look at me Jess." He speaks softly, his voice soothing me.

I look up into his light grey eyes.

"Do you want to be with me?" He questions, looking into my eyes, as if he is staring straight at me.

"What about Cassie?" I blurt out.

Way to go Jess! You have just had such a perfect dinner with an amazing guy who you like and you have to mention your best friend whom is also his ex girlfriend.

Hurt flashes through Jason's eyes and he looks away.

"Do you not want to be with me?" He says not looking at me.

"That's not what I'm saying but it will kill Cassie if she finds out!"

"So you do want to be with me?"

"Yes, of course I do." I admit. I have wanted this since I talked to you at the party. I think in my head.

Jason snaps his head in my direction and I see a smile appear on his face.

"So what do you say Jess. Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes." I quickly reply before I can even think about it. There's so many reasons I can think of why Jason and I shouldn't be together but there is one reason. One reason that we should be together. Jason and I like each other. Really like each other.
