It was now five days since I had broken the news to Cassie. I was sitting at the beach waiting for Jason to finish his shift at 'The Wave' when I saw her. Cassie.

She looked pale and weak. Her arms were covered in a long white sleeved shirt and I knew what that meant.

My eyes started filling up with tears.

"Cassie!" I called out and she turned her head to look at me. Her eyes widened as she carried on walking.

"Cassie please! Wait!" I jumped up from the sand and started walking over towards her.

"Leave me alone." I heard her.

"I just want to talk. Please." I cried.

"Well I've done enough talking. Just leave me alone before I say something that I probably won't regret." She said in a sassy tone.

I stopped and watched as she walked off towards a familiar tall figure standing a few meters away. The sun was bright so I had to squint but I could tell that it was Skylar. What were those two up to? I thought.

I walked back up to 'The Wave' so I could tell Jason.

"Yeah, I saw the two of them on the beach earlier." I explained to him as we sat in a secluded booth drinking coffee.

"They are up to something, probably want to break us up." He said in an annoyed tone.

"Cassie wouldn't do that." I reassured him, and myself.

"Are you sure about that? Just because you were best friends with her doesn't mean that she'll go easy on you." He said angrily.

"You're right." I said biting my bottom lip. I was starting to worry.

"We are prepared for this though. Nothing will come between us." I smiled placing my hand over his and giving it a gentle squeeze.

Jason looked up at me and smiled, "I love you Jess." He whispered.

What? He loves me?

I didn't say anything, I just took another sip of my coffee. Jason didn't seem to mind that I hadn't said anything back, I mean, what was he expecting? I'm not even sure I know what love feels like since I had never been in love with someone before.

After a few minutes Jason broke the silence, "Well come on. Better get you home now." He said.

"I don't want to go home." I sighed, "I want to spend more time with you." I muttered, not looking at him.

"You can come over tonight if you like?" He offered, I quickly nodded my head and said, "Yes." Which earned me a laugh from him.

"That's settled then! We can order dinner in and watch a movie." He smiled as we got up from the booth.

I went outside and waited for Jason to collect his things before he took me home to get changed.

I quickly make my way up the stairs towards my room to change into a pair of shorts and a loose white shirt. I put my flip flops on and take a jumper in case it gets cold later. I also call my dad because he is at work and I tell him that I will be out for the night and will probably be home later so he shouldn't wait up for me.

I make my way back down to the car where Jason is waiting and he is playing his music really loudly and singing, bopping his head up and down to the rhythm of the song.

"Has anyone ever told you that you suck at singing?!" I yell over the music as I get in.

"No! You're the first." Jason admits and laughs as he starts the engine of the car.

We arrive at his house 20 minutes later. There are no cars in the driveway so I assume its empty.

"Is anyone home?" I ask as i follow him out of the car and up to his house, "No, I don't think so." He admits and winks at me. "You are trouble." I say and playfully hit him.

We make our way inside and Jason takes me to the lounge, he tells me that I can pick out a movie whilst he has a quick shower.

I sit down on the sofa and pick out a DVD that i know he will hate, The Notebook. Its my favourite movie and guys never like chick flicks. They like action movies with killing which I absolutely hate.

I've been waiting for Jason for about 15 minutes when I hear the front door open, at first I think it is Jason's parents and I am waiting for an awkward introduction without him but then I hear someone say "Hey sexy, did you miss me?" I turn around to face Skylar.

"Gross." I say and he walks over to me and takes a seat. "Go away Skylar." I groan and get up from the couch. "Why do you have to be like that Jess? I'm not so bad.." He trails off.

"Yes you are. What were you and Cassie talking about today?" I demand, folding my arms over my chest.

"I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about." He says slyly. "Yes you do Skylar. I saw you two!" I rasie my voice, he is so frustrating.

"You should have come and said hi then." He states.

"Whatever you two are planning just STOP." I have had it with him right now, "Jason and I have been through enough already and we are in a good place at the moment. I don't need you putting a strain on our relationship and concocting an evil plan with my best friend to ruin it!"

"Don't you mean your ex best friend?" Is all he can say.

I ball my fists and I am ready to pounce. "You are an asshole! And you wonder why I'm with Jason instead of you?!" I yell. I have never been so angry at someone in my life.

Skylar is about to say something when we both hear another voice, "What is going on here?" I hear Jason's voice from behind me.

"You're girlfriend is a fiesty character." Skylar laughs, "She is quite sexy." He finishes. I notice Jason's left eye twitch as he charges forward at Skylar who is sitting on the couch with a smirk on his face.

I quickly get out of the way because I can see where this is going. Jasons leaps at Skylar and the next minute they are both on the floor, throwing punches at each other.

"Stop it!! You guys! Just stop please?!" I beg and they are not listening. Jason punches Skylar in the eye which I know will leave him a black eye and Skylar punches Jason's lip which causes blood to spill out.

"STOP!!!!" I yell as loud as I can and they both stop and look at me.
