I get home after the bonfire and all the lights are turned off. That means my parents must be asleep so I head up to my room before collapsing onto my bed. This night has gone horrible, I think to myself.
I feel my phone buzz in my back pocket and pull it out to see who has just sent me a text message. I open it and it reads:
'Come outside-Jason.'
I roll my eyes as I put my phone down next to my bed. I walk out my bedroom and down the stairs to the front door to go meet Jason.
"What do you want?" I whisper sternly as he stands outside my front door.
"I'm sorry." He whispers not looking at me but at the ground and I can't help but feel guilty because I know this whole situation is really hard for him too.
I step forward and kiss him softly on the lips. I can feel him smiling as we kiss some more and I pull away offering for him to come inside.
We go up to my room and now we are both laying on my bed facing each other. I hope my parents don't catch us or I will be dead.
"Won't your parents be mad if you're not home soon?" I whisper because we're trying to be super quiet so my parents can't hear us.
He nods, "I just told Skylar I was going to a friends house and he bought it. My parents will too." He reassures me.
"You can stay here but you have to sleep on the floor." I state.
"Aw c'mon Jess." He says in a playful tone and begins caressing my arm. I like this cute, playful, drunk Jason.
I begin to push him off the bed but he grabs my arm and we both end up falling off onto the floor with me on top of him. Luckily the fall isn't too loud so my parents don't wake up.
"I'm serious." I smile at him and begin to stand up but he pulls me back down next to him.
"Jason." I shake my head as he begins kissing my neck softly.
I can't think straight.
He keeps kissing me and I grab a handful of his hair in my fist tightly.
"Stop." I breath heavily, he looks up at me and a smirk begins to creep upon his face.
I shake my head at him as I go in to kiss him on the lips before getting up and sitting on my bed. "It's late so we should get to bed." I state, Jason nods his heads to say he understands and I give him a pillow and spare blanket before I fall into a deep sleep.
I wake up the next morning to find that Jason isn't there. How did I not hear him leave?
I pick up my phone and I have a text message so I open it to see who it's from.
'Sorry about last night. I left early this morning so your parents didn't catch us. I will call you later-Jason xx'
I get changed and make my down the stairs to greet my parents who are busy cooking breakfast. "Morning sweetie! How was the bonfire last night?" My dad smiles at me. "It was okay." I state picking up an apple and take a bite out of it. "Your mother and I are making breakfast." He laughs as I eat my apple. "I'm not that hungry." I respond and he nods his head.
"I might go for a walk soon." I let them know. My mother just nods her head and my father doesn't even hear what I say as he is too busy focussing on not burning the food. I shake my head and exit through the front door.
I have only been walking for about 10 minutes or so when I see a strange girl walk towards me. She has short, cropped blonde hair and a nose piercing, her eyeliner is smudged and she's wearing a band tee which looks like a dress because it is way too long for her. She's probably new because I've never seen her around town before.
"Hey you!" She calls and I turn around to see if anyone else is behind me because I definitely don't know this girl.
"You blondie!" She calls me and I stand still placing one hand on my hip. She did not just call me that.
"Excuse me?" I snap and she laughs, a high pitched screeching laugh and my ears start to ring. What's the deal with her? Saying excuse me isn't funny last time I checked.
"I don't know your name so I just called you blondie because you are blonde." She laughs again. I'm really getting tired of her stupid laugh and I've only just met her.
"So the most original thing you could come up with was blondie?" I say in an annoyed tone.
"She nods her head. I'm Natasha by the way." She introduces herself.
"I'm Jess." I state, I still don't get why she's talking to me.
"Nice too meet you, Jess." She smiles at me.
"Yea you too. Can I help you?" I respond, it comes across as rude but I didn't mean for it to sound that way.
"I'm just here for the weekend, I was wondering if you knew one of my friends. It seems to be a small town, not much to do around here so I figured that everyone knows everyone here." She explains and I nod. Now I know why she came up to me in the first place.
"Who's your friend?" I ask.
"His name is Skylar Clarke. You know him?" She questions. I nod and she smiles. "Good! Do you know where he's staying?" She continues with the game of 20 questions.
"Yea, he's staying with my boy... My friend. He's staying with my friend." I finish and she nods looking suspicious of what I just said.
"Well could you take me there? I can drive, I bought my car with." She offers and I slowly gulp. This is a bad idea, a very bad idea. "Pleeeease." She begs and I finally give in nodding my head at the girl.
"Come on let's go!" She exclaims grabbing my hand and walking both of us to her car.
I had never been inside Jason's house before, even though we are dating but I knew where it was. I had once waited outside his house, in Cassie's car because she had to give him his birthday present; lets just say she gave him more than a present whilst I waited outside. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.
Jason lives about 20 minutes away from where we were so I gave Natasha the directions whilst she drove.
"So how do you know Skylar?" Natasha starts to make conversation with me in the car on the way to the house.
"He's friends with Jason who used to date my best friend and we all went camping together a while ago. You?" She laughs that high pitched screeching laugh again and I feel my ears ringing. What is so damn funny?
"Well we used to date." She states.
I nod, I could see her being someone Skylar dates but I find it weird that he now likes me. Natasha and I are total opposites! She's like the poster girl for your typical rock band and I'm the poster girl for your typical girl next door.
"How did you two meet?" I finally ask her, I want to know because I am curious about the two of them.
"Well..." She starts.
"I used to be in this band. And we needed a new guitarist and Skylar auditioned. The kid is amazing at the guitar. Have you heard him play before?" She asks and I'm about to reply when she cuts me off and continues with her story,
"Yea well he was pretty young when he started out. Only about 15 and I was 17. The age gap wasn't too bad but I wasn't fond of dating a younger guy but Skylar kept pushing me to go out on dates with him and I finally said yes to one and I found myself really liking him. We dated for about a year but we are still close after breaking up." She smiles as she finishes telling me the story. It reminds me of Cassie and Jason. Not the how they met part but the part about them dating for so long except they aren't friends anymore.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" She asks snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yea." I reply looking out the window.
"How long have you two been dating?" She replies with another question.
"Officially, three weeks... It's really complicated." I sigh resting my head upon the window which begins to fog up from my hot breath.
"Tell me about it! Boys are so... Ugh." She laughs. This time it doesn't sound forced like the high pitch squeals she had been cracking out before.
"It's just this one here on the left." I respond, talking about Jason's house. She pulls the car into the drive way and cuts off the engine and we both get out of the car and walk towards the front door.
