A/N: So, I'm editing all my stories (if you're an old reader and haven't already noticed the cover changes and description changes). I don't know how much I'm changing right now, but I don't think it will be enough to affect the current story. I'll let you know about any big changes. Also, the scene in which the Doctor dances with Rose in this, the dialogue will changed to fit my storyline. Which means, they won't discuss Jack as much.
We jumped through the hole and Jack hopped through last. Rage was written all over his face and flaring inside him. I could feel it without even glancing at him.
"Give me that!" He snatched the blaster out of the Doctor's hands.
"Mummy. I want my mummy." The child repeated.
When Jack pointed the blaster at the child and I figured he would blast the kid so I winced, shutting my eyes as I heard the blaster. As much as the kid wanted to kill me I still didn't want to see a child laying on the floor, motionless and ice cold. I was shocked when I opened my eyes and found the child was not dead, but the hole in the wall was repaired.
"Digital rewind." He informed me, apparently he noticed my worry that he would kill the child. "Nice switch." Jack smirked at the Doctor.
"It's from the groves of Villengard. I thought it was appropriate." The Doctor shrugged like it was nothing.
"There's really a banana grove in the heart of Villengard and you did that?" Jack pointed at the banana in the Doctor's hand and rose an eyebrow.
"Bananas are good." The Doctor shrugged once more and I rolled my eyes.
The wall began to crack, telling us that the child was coming again.
"Doctor!" I exclaimed.
"Come on!" He called, grabbing my hand and darting around the corner, Jack and Rose trailing close behind.
We raced down the long hospital corridors, reaching the double doors that would take us to the exit.
All of a sudden, the doors flung open and the Doctor skidded to a stop. I glanced up at him with questions in my eyes asking why he stopped and he pointed up.
That's when I saw the patients.
"Mummy. Mummy. Mummy." The patients droned on.
We whipped around and tried to run in the opposite direction, searching for another way out. We rounded the corner when more patients began to shuffle towards us from that direction.
We glanced back, hoping for a last attempt to go in our original direction when the patients from earlier crowded that corridor as well.
Meanwhile, the child was still pounding at the wall and was almost through. We all moved as far away as possible from the patients and deteriorating wall in the small corridor.
"We're trapped!" Jack shouted in frustration. He began to point his blaster at the wall, then one set of patients, and the other. He continued this pattern in a last ditch attempt to save all four of us.
"It's keeping us here till it can get at us." The Doctor muttered, so only I could hear.
"He can control them?" My eyes went wide at the thought. "The child, I mean." I clarified.
"It is them. It's every living thing in this hospital."
"Okay. This can function as a sonic blaster, a sonic cannon, and as a triple-enfolded sonic disrupter. Doc, what you got?" Jack called.
I grinned at the Doctor and watched him expectantly. His sonic screwdriver was nothing compared to Jack's blaster and he knew it. He scowled at my grin and I held back laughter.
