"-The big bad wolf. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, miss."

"What's that about the big bad wolf?" I asked, smirking.

The Doctor appeared next to me in the doorway.

"I can't help it. Ever since I was a little girl, my mam said I had the sight. She told me to hide it." The woman apologized.

"But it's getting stronger, more powerful, is that right?" The Doctor asked.

"All the time, sir. Every night, voices in my head." She told him. I headed over to Rose.

"Hey." She breathed out.

"Hey."

"You grew up on top of the rift. You're part of it. You're the key." The Doctor explained to her.

"What's her name?" I whispered to Rose.

"Gwyneth. The man is Mister Sneed." She replied.

"I've tried to make sense of it, sir. Consulted with spiritualists, table rappers, all sorts."

"Well, that should help. You can show us what to do." He told her.

"What are we doing this time?" I moaned. He grinned at me like a little kid.

"We're going to have a seance." He told me happily.

We headed down the steps to go perform the seance. I didn't even bother to question it.

"Oi! Mister Sneed! Charlie! Over here!" I shouted. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the Doctor shaking his head while laughing at me. "We're performing a seance. Care to join the party?"

I sat down at the table with the others, while Charlie was still standing.

"This is how Madam Mortlock summons those from the Land of Mists, down in big town. Come, we must all join hands."

I was sitting right in between Rose and the Doctor, Mister Sneed was next to Rose, and Gwyneth was next to the Doctor.

"I can't take part in this." Charlie muttered.

"Then don't." The Doctor snapped. "We've got plenty of hands without  you."

"Someone's angry." I whispered to him, smirking. "Calm down." I told him, taking his hand. "You don't have to be so hard on him."

He visually relaxed, but I could tell something else was bugging him. I brushed it off and Rose's hand.

"Now, Gwyneth, reach out." The Doctor told her.

"Speak to us. Are you there? Spirits, come. Speak to us that we may relieve your burden."

All of a sudden, whispering began. It gave me chills.

"Can you hear that?" Rose asked, looking at everybody. I nodded.

"Nothing can happen." Charles demanded. "This is sheer folly."

"Look at her." I commanded. She looked possessed, summoning the spirits.

"I can see them. I can feel them." She announced.

Gas tendrils began to drift above our heads.

"What's it saying?" Rose asked.

"They can't get through the rift. Gwyneth, it's not controlling you, you're controlling it. Now, look deep. Allow them through." The Doctor told her.

"I can't!" She exclaimed.

"Yes, you can. Just believe it. I have faith in you, Gwyneth. Make the link." I told her.
