Nate's POV:

My gaze never faltered away from Lilly's as I awaited her reply. But I noticed the small changes which happened, how she suddenly looked so nervous and started fumbling with her thin fingers, how she slightly bounced her knees and how she kept trying to avoid my heated gaze on her.

"Uh..It's..I go to the gym, and I kind of took interest in boxing and stuff, just you know for self defence, it's not really that safe where I live so.. I like to keep on the safe side." She reasoned out, her eyes darting here and there, then she suddenly took my hand in hers trying to lock our fingers.

"We should really go now, don't look deeper into the matter, it was just a punch." Lilly tried pulling me towards the car but I wasn't having it.

I wasn't a fool, and such a lie could be accepted if she didn't look so nervous, if her posture and act weren't so unskilled and blatant.

"Lilly, stop." I hissed, halting her movement. "Is this really how things are going to work? You're going to lie straight to my face? Because as far as I knew relationships were based on trust and you don't seem really trusty right now."

I was livid, I felt a part of me, the part that was completely under Lilly's spell break, I wanted nothing but to make sure she was safe and content, to make sure she had someone to vent out to, to let me know her deepest darkest secrets but this didn't seem like the case.

Lilly's face contorted into one of shock and disbelief. "Oh really? So you going to use this card on me right now? The trust in relationships?" Lilly yelled, running her hands through her hair.

"I don't understand what you're trying to say right  now, Lilly." The horrible gut feeling I felt told me that this was going to end as a horrible fight, but I couldn't care less right now.

"What I'm trying to say right now Nate is that are you trying to convince me that I'm the only one who isn't truthful in this relationship? Are you trying to tell me that you aren't hiding anything from me too? That you are the ideal boyfriend who doesn't sin!" She yelled, her eyes wide.

I couldn't believe what she just said. "What the actual f*ck, Lilly! So now this is all about me? You don't seem to realise what you're doing being so defensive all of a sudden, trying to swerve this conversation to be about me! You're avoiding this god damn question because you are hiding something! Because you are lying to me!"

"I'm allowed to have secrets, Nate! Secrets mean things that no one knows except myself, and this doesn't include you! And why did you get so defensive when I turned this conversation to be about you! Why can't I claim this as you hiding something from me!"

"What the hell would I hide from you Lilly! At least when I'll try to hide something I won't be quite obvious about it just like you!" I was breathing heavily, I couldn't care less that we were fighting in the middle of a parking lot, where anyone could see us, I was fuming with fury.

"You really want to know what I actually don't trust you about, Nate?" Lilly hissed her eyes turning into slits. "I think that you're cheating on me. With every single one of your sluts of maids. They say once a player, always a player. You always had a thing for your maids you don't expect me to believe that you'll suddenly give up this lifestyle for me. What I don't know won't hurt me, right, Nathaniel?"

This was a low blow, I felt my heart stutter in my chest for a moment at her accusations.

"Get into the car, Lilly." I said, almost robotically opening the door.

"Why aren't you fighting back, Nate? Is it because that's the truth?" She pressed on, making every single fibre in my body lose my consent on what happens.
