Nate's POV:

The drive to the cottage was full of thinking and undeniable frustration, frustration about my dad, about Xavier and mostly about being kneed by Lilly; the angel in disguise, she seems tiny and cute, but is tough and determined. She got me astonished, shocked to say the least, maybe because she was the only person in school who had the guts to hit, she didn't seemed fazed by my bad boy persona and that itself was a first, but i was still fuming, probably because she just added coal to the fire which was building up inside as a result of what happened with my dad, and my pent up anger.

I pulled into the cottage's driveway with ease, and cut the engine short. Xavier's car parked straight behind me a few seconds later. I stared at the cottage's cosy outer complex, and it reminded me immediately of why I cherish this place. The peachy exterior and the cherry red roof contrasted perfectly, the brick layer underneath gave the house a unique style, the massive forest trees and vibrant flowers surrounded the house like second skin. This cottage was what I call Xavier and mine's place, its our spot. No one knows about it. Not even our parents. We got it in secrecy so that it'll be the place we resort to when we face trouble, when a messed up situation arises, just like now.

I entered the homey cottage with Xavier in tow. The living room was a wide room with simple creamy coloured walls and brown leather couches which were extremely comfortable, the fire place provided heat especially during winters, paintings and simple decorations littered around the room, along with a massive TV screen, and last but not least - our bar. Yes, we do have a personal bar at our cottage, because that's basically the purpose of coming here, drinking and drowning our sorrows. We are some messed up teenagers.

I threw myself on one of the couches and propped my legs up on the table in front of me. I saw from the corner of my eye Xavier doing the same thing. We stayed silent for quite a while until Xavier decided to break the tense silence "I'm sorry." He blurted out. My head whipped to his side, about to reply but he beat me to it and kept on rambling. "I swear I was coming but then Lilly came up to me, I knew it was kind of a serious situation and that I need to be there straight away but then she kept pleading me to speak cause she claimed that she had something serious to talk about too, you know that we are working on that project together, right? Right so she said that we needed to finish it, because the stupid English teacher as annoying as hell and -"

I cut off Xavier's rant by bursting out laughing to an extent where tears were rolling out of my eyes. I haven't had such a laugh in quite a long time, and I think I forgot all about the stupidity going on in my life and just laughed. Xavier kept seated with a confused look on his face, the idiot thought I was still mad, honestly whatever anger I felt towards him vanished already after his ramble session.

"That was Gold!!" I gasped in between laughs. "God, Xavier you sounded worse than one of Nicole's minions apologising after getting Nicole a full cream coffee instead of skimmed."

Xavier frowned a little then let out a small chuckle, which eventually turned into a full blown laugh. "I guess i did sound like a chick, huh?" He said.

"Totally!" I screeched, laughing again.

After sobering up, I decided to speak up, "want a drink?" I asked, getting up from my seat.

"Yeah, get me a vodka martini." He replied.

I smirked, "going for the tough stuff?"

"I figured it was a serious matter we're here for so why not drink it away?" He said, smirking back.

"I'm proud of you young Xav. You're learning." I said.

"What can i do when i'm constantly hanging out with an insane drinker like you." He replied. I only gave a chuckle in return. Then resumed preparing our drinks.
